I swear... the amount of whining about all the things which are "ZOMG GONNA CHANGE THE CROWD DYNAMIC" in this thread...
The Replacements pretty likely I think? They'll be in Seattle the week after.
(I WANT that to be true)
Guys. The Black Keys sell as many tickets to their own headlining concerts as this entire festival's capacity for more than the per-day entrance fee of this festival.
Also, I'd love to see the Replacements there, and I guess if FYF was willing to fork over the money for MBV, they would also be willing to do so forThe Replacements.
slowdive are a headliner if they play, yeah?
why even bother speculating when you're going to know the lineup so soon anyway
maybe? all i know is that I will be on cloud nine whenever it is they are playing. also really drunk.
I doubt Slowdive is a headliner in Los Angeles. They are going to make a select group of people extremely happy, but I bet they'd be playing pretty small venues if they went on a proper US tour
all of your questions and more will be more accurately answered if you wait
Trombone Shorty looks good for day two. Day one he will be in Temecula.
Marc Maron. Patton Oswalt.
Neither will be there according to their management.
What about Broken Bells? They'll be back to west coast in early and mid august and then nothing till ACL.
If the lineup is going to be released tomorrow I feel like there would have been some sort of announcement about when/where/etc. by now. Prove me wrong though I guess.
Yeah, this lineup never comes out when expected.
10/16 Massive Attack @ Greek Theater (?), 10/18 Culture Collide, 10/26 Asobi Seksu & Slowdive @ Royale, 11/7 Warpaint @ Echoplex, 11/12 Blonde Redhead @ Fonda
I feel like Coachella announcing the presale for this Friday creates a bit of a conflict for the FYF announcement. If they also announce FYF this week wouldn't it seem kind of overwhelming unless they announce tickets going on sale sometimes next week or next Friday? I'm starting to think FYF is waiting till next week now that they haven't made a peep the last few days, especially after the early Coachella announcement.
Btw wouldn't it be fucking awesome if the fucking cure headlined.
The lineup will get announced when it gets announced & it will be great.
10/7 Ought - Center For the Arts, Eagle Rock
10/16 Cloud Nothings - Velvet Jones
10/29 Tycho - Ventura Theater
10/31 QOTSA - Forum
11/4 United Nations - Catch One (?)
11/9 Bad Religion - The Mayan
11/14 Death From Above 1979 - Regent
Any chance The Cure is headlining a day?
I think seeing how good Riot Fest is will set me up for disappointment.
^ I'm going with....
Top two lines on the poster might look like this?
1) Modest Mouse
3) Flying Lotus
2) Death from Above 1979
4) Slint (or some R&B/Rap artist I can't think of!)
If they're really using the Sports Arena I doubt the biggest names on the poster will be Modest Mouse & Interpol.
