Nice. Hopefully some more will be rolling in today before we get the full lineup.

I fucking love Built to Spill. Them and Modest Mouse will present a bad ass late 90's/early 00's Seattle indie theme. Add Death Cab playing only their first two albums to seal the deal.

Festival Supreme announcement for their return this year at Exposition Park. Looks like everyone's assumptions are on point for FYF taking place there as well.

I'm not familiar with the area, but I've only heard things that the USC connection will make it suck. Will there be a lot of campus bro bleed as far as attendance? I liked how the Historic Park brought in the authentic skater/punk/indie kids from the suburbs and not the shithead Coachella dress-up hipsters with money.

Edit: Also, the element of an indoor arena kills the festival vibe if they use it.

I don't live in L.A. so I'm getting my info from friends who do and what I've read in past comments. Is it in reality a non-issue?

I mean. The old location was 6 miles away from USC. "Authentic" suburbanites partial to punk and indie will still go, if the lineup appeals to them. I don't know how moving the venue 6 miles would result in some sort of onslaught of monied hipsters who are there just for the scene.

I wonder how high on the bill Built to Spill will be. I remember they headlined Sunset Junction a few years ago.

I saw Classixx for free last year at the Hammer Museum and was surprised by how much shittier the crowd was in comparison to seeing them back in downtown and surrounding areas.

Not saying FYF will be the same...i dont know what im saying really...just that the crowd REALLY fucking sucked.

Sounds like the location will thus be 6 miles closer and a few stops closer on the Metro as well then. Good to know!

I'm sure they'll be 2nd or 3rd line depending on what day they play. 3rd line last year was Devendra/Deerhunter/The Breeders for Saturday, I imagine Built to Spill would fit around those size acts.

So if Exposition Park does turn out to be the venue, are the out-of-towners planning on staying downtown and taking the metro in, or staying closer to the park? The Radisson and the Vagabond Inn seem like they would be decent stays nearby.

I wouldn't mind it being in Expo Park --- I haven't been there in decades but I loved the museums as a kid and the Space Shuttle is there now, so that would be a great morning adventure before the fest opens in the afternoon.

The skater/punk/indie kids come out because it's FYF and it's been a pillar of that community in LA for nearly a decade now. People followed it from the Echo/Echoplex to the Historic Park, and I imagine lots of them will continue to follow it wherever it winds up.

I'm really intrigued to see what they do with the park.

because a lot of those people on the westside are scared of the eastside...i don't think the crowd will be all that different unless there are a couple big name bands..should be the same demographic sprinkled in with some dbags...nothing new

It is at Exposition Park, no ifs ands or buts.
