(But after today, I'm inclined to believe the National might headline with someone else like Modest Mouse, and the Replacements will respectfully be touted as headliners to one of them but still serve as subs.)

You also forget the fact that if the Replacements are headlining a $50/day festival, Replacements fans are more likely to go. They have an older fan base that isn't all that likely to want to do Coachella.
I have been to concerts. I will go to concerts in the future.
I doubt Best Coast is on the lineup, unless it's a late add, considering they are headlining the Burger Records thing 8/2. I could see them and Dum Dum Girls being late adds tho.
Chris, for Phantogram, do radio shows really count tho?
Good chance Jenny Lewis will be there...LA local, new album, August is free.
Lykke Li? Nothing scheduled after Outside Lands.
1/11 Tamaryn @ The Echo, 1/20 Elton John @ Caesars Palace, 2/14 Sparks @ The Ace, 2/17 Emmy the Great @ DC9 (?)
What about Swans? Or is the Roxy date on 9/11 cutting it too close...
I know there's no correlation between the festivals, but the fact that National is now headlining Riot Fest Toronto, which is mostly punk/hardcore-centric, on top of the First City Fest, leads me to believe that they're a sure thing for FYF now. Just seems like they're hitting up a ton of fests they haven't before toward the end of August/September.
Edit: Here's hoping they have some rare gets in store like past years. This is shaping up to be one of the first FYF Fests where the only names I've seen mentioned so far are pretty standard festival fare.

New tour dates for Future Islands. Looks like they're pretty much confirmed:
08-16 Portland, OR - MusicfestNW
08-18 Sacramento, CA - Harlow's
08-25 Tucson, AZ - 191 Toole
Spoon just announced an August 8th show at Hollywood Forever. A bit less likely now I guess.
Check out my concert photos http://www.flickr.com/photos/ameeps/
3 - alt-J - Pageant
Would the Strokes headline? They'll be announcing a fall tour in the coming months so fyf may be premature.
FYF also tends to also be somewhat of a compilation of a lot of the bands they've put shows on for over the past year. Looking at tour dates and remembering who had FYF-promoted shows this year, I can see the following as possible bookings:
DIIV (in support of their new album possibly?)
The Julie Ruin
Volcano Choir (no, they weren't an FYF show, but they have festival dates popping up in late August/September so I'm just throwing it down here because it makes a bit of sense as a possibility)
If you google "Strokes tour fall 2014" the first result is their official website, which states exactly that on the front page.
Pretty interested in going this year, do we know where its at yet? Sorry reading through this entire thread on my phone is a pain in the ass, I gave up after a few pages.
Location, line up, ticket info, etc will all be announced at the same time, supposedly by May 15 (though with their track record, I wouldn't hold my breath).
Damn, might have to bring one of my black friends with me then. Need that street cred.
9/21 - Arsis @ New Royal Dive
10/28 - Tycho @ North Park Theatre
10/30 - The Rural Alberta Advantage @ Soda Bar
11/4 - United Nations @ Los Globos
11/12 - DFA 1979 @ House Of Blues
11/14 - The Presets @ North Park Theatre
11/29 - Cake @ Del Mar
You'll probably be fine if you just bring some other racist white people with you
