I'd start with Young Team which is their best work, and then move onto Rock Action, Happy Songs for Happy People, and finally their latest, Rave Tapes.

Rave Tapes had some pretty good tracks. It's not their best, but it's pretty good.

A concert for you Mogwai fans courtesy of my husband's web site. He searches out stuff like this and posts a concert pretty much every day.

Well based on their recent setlists hearing Remurdered is a near certainty, which is awesome. I really don't care what the setlist looks like as long as they play Mogwai Fear Satan. It might not happen considering how long it is, but I can't think of a better way for them to close out their set.

It was a staple for many years, but they did start to play shows without it on the last tour.

Thats a damn shame. It should always be a staple. My only fear is that with a 50 minute set they'll play mostly tracks off Rave Tapes, which makes sense, and forgo a chance to play it. I guess we can only hope they're in the giving mood and decide to change things up given that its not just another ordinary show on their tour.

They played Fear Satan the last time they were at Coachella so the length isn't a problem.

they played it both times they played coachella. in 2004 it was one of six songs they chose to play. it's not out of the question at all. it helps that the live version is usually a fair bit shorter than the version on record, closer to 11 mins.

2014 Nominee for Most Polite Performers (Duo or Group)... your man will say thank you between every song, and give at least one lengthy and sincere outpouring of his appreciation and gratitude for turning up and listening. Then they will proceed to hit you with 110 decibels and inflict noise-induced hearing loss and YOU will say thank you.

Getting more and more excited for Mogwai. Seeing them is going to be set up perfectly with a weak Saturday night top line. Post-apocalyptic is the perfect way to describe these jams.

There are a couple random songs with vocals (or maybe just one)...I haven't watched a video of a whole set yet, but does anyone know if they ever sing live? Not a necessity, just curious.

Oh alright, I didn't know that. Thanks for the insight. I guess its very likely that they play it. If not I'd settle for hearing something else off that album like Yes I am a Long Way From Home. I know they've busted that one out more than few times on this tour. I've never seen them before so this is high up on my list of priorities. I'm definitely bringing earplugs.

Maybe they'll drown out the Do Lab. Getting more and more psyched for this. Got my earplugs ready.
I have been to concerts. I will go to concerts in the future.

When I saw them at Curiosa, they played a total of four songs, one of which was a half-hour My Father My King. They will play what they want to play, regardless of setting. And whatever they do, they will be incredible live. I've seen them six times and they've never been anything less than great.

There's a lot of variety in their sets though there are some patterns. This tour seems to have them always opening with "Heard About You Last Night" usually sticking "Remurdered" somewhere near the end (though they occasionally do Auto Rock instead), ending the initial set with "Mexican Grand Prix" and picking whatever they want for an encore. The more I listen to their music, the more I'm hoping that they get a Gobi or Mojave set during Muse. That should give them enough time to get through a full set.

Them going against Muse makes a lot of sense to me as well. Hate Muse? Here try Mogwai instead.

They're definitely one of the loudest bands I've seen. Felt like I was in a tunneled sound vortex the entire set. Felt thoroughly rocked afterwards.

Their drummer has gone and injured himself again. Hopefully he recovers in time for their US tour.

this was a week ago. we can hope it doesn't take nearly 8 weeks, but in all likelihood we have another US tour with a stand-in drummer.
