I'm also enjoying the newly released "Electric 13' record which is basically "Electric" before they brought in Rick Rubin to produce it, so it has that gothy/psychedelic feel of Love which is nice!
Oh, wow, nice. Before they did an AC/DC. Like that Finland footage on YT.

I'm sure they'll blow people off the ground.

This is my revenge. People hated on me for putting The Cult on my contest posters a couple years back.... here they are.

Ian Astbury has been poor live in recent years, so I'm hoping he takes these shows seriously and stops truncating lyrics and rushing through songs. Billy Duffy is a super-god who ALWAYS sounds fantastic, so I'm sure he'll crush it. They can put together a :55 set that will entertain just about any crowd that likes guitars, so this should be a great opportunity for hipsters to get into "Love Removal Machine", "She Sells Sanctuary", "Spiritwalker", "The Witch", and their many other really f'in good live songs. Of course they might just play a bunch of "Electric" songs since they've been touring the album, and that would be fine too.

Ian had also been pushing GV to book The Cult in recent years. Glad to see it worked out. They're the rare 80s rock act that has a sliver of artistic integrity and they've changed up their sound and succeeded with multiple versions of themselves. They're not for everyone (especially his voice), but they definitely bring something to the Polo Grounds.

What stage and time do we want The Cult to play then?

I'd like 8pm in a packed Mojave - although they may get the Madness slot on the Outdoor theatre c.1 hour earlier IIRC

while i'm happy to see them on the lineup, it's kind of in a secondary bucket list sort of way for me. i've always wanted to see them but have never been willing to pay to see one of their shows because almost every live video i've seen Ian sounds really bad, even as far back as the mid 90s. maybe i've been watching the wrong videos, i dont know. but i'm going into this one expecting more of a nostalgia trip than a really solid set vocal wise. for the record i hope i'm wrong.

i don't feel that is a fair statement. nobody on this year's lineup can even come close to competing with Liam on that

    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Astbury doesn't smile much in public anymore, but he used to.

Taught LL Cool J the lip wet technique. Also better than band of said song name.

The Cult were not the reunion I wanted to see. I would have preferred Slowdive.

Opened up with Here Comes the Rain. Nice start.

They lost me after the 4th or fifth song when they went into some slow power ballad and the next thing I remember is some kind stranger waking me up at my hotel shuttle stop telling me it was time to get off the bus.
