I didn't notice the grass being detrimental to my experience. I had more fun Weekend 2 because of the hotter and more stable weather and the people I encountered.

This happened with Justice in 2012. W1 had sound problems which cut their set really short, while W2 had a full set.

The advantage of weekend 2 is that you can plan your schedule much better. Any conflicting sets you have can be resolved by finding out who performed better weekend 1 thanks to the live stream. Last year I was set on seeing Modest Mouse over Local Natives. Well Modest Mouse was on acid or something and had a terrible set weekend 1, so I saw Local Natives who had an amazing performance (top 5 of the weekend I thought). You can hear who is a must see and who can be skipped by going weekend 2. The grass might not be as nice but if you're concerned about that, you probably shouldn't be going at all.

Rolling Stone MIGHT have an inside scoop, but not always.
The "report" I am talking about is on Outkast's official website -

    http://www.outkast.com/news/outkast-return-stage

    From the article -

After headlining performances at Coachella in April, the influential group will be the marquee act at over 40 festivals around the world throughout the Spring/Summer of 2014
10/8 - Little Dragon @ Marquee (Tempe, AZ)
10/11 - Carolina Chocolate Drops @ Rialto Theater (Tucson, AZ)
11/10 - The Black Keys @ US Airways Center (Phoenix, AZ)
    4/10/15 - 4/12/15 - Coachella

Think the bands might be more relaxed weekend two after knowing what they've got. Sound problems hopefully worked out. Less jet lag if it applies.... If I were going to do something new, I'd do it after I knew the venue... But I've only been twice and not both weekends so this is just a hopeful guess. I'm glad I won't have to compare. It would be fine if Weekend Two were better but if not, isn't it a letdown?
