These guys are playing a show in San Antonio in a couple weeks at the Majestic Theatre, a beautiful old-style theater. It might be kind of weird to be seated for a Queens show but we got 3rd row orchestra seats so I'm fucking pumped. They absolutely slayed at ACL last year. All their stuff is great but ...Like Clockwork is just on a whole new level.

Everyone see the news of the Grammys grand finale? Should be great with queens, nin, Grohl, and Lindsay buckingham. Will be watching at least the last 10 minutes of the show.

No "I Appear Missing"? That's the best song on the album. :-/

So as I expected, I'm going to be extremely tempted to just stay at the Main for QOSTA and then Muse back to back. But then there's Darkside. Ahh, the decisions to be made in 2 days.

You think you have it bad? I have a choice of either bailing on them early or missing almost all of Mogwai.

Yeah I won't be leaving them early; one of my favorite bands that I still have yet to see live. I'll be as close as possible.

I have love for Mogwai, but I've never seen Queens of the Stone Age live. One of the greater conflicts for me, but as soon as QOTSA finishes I'll to sprint to the Mojave to catch a glimpse of the Mogwai finale.

I saw Queens of the Stone Age a few years ago. They were awful. So awful that we left mid concert. Hopefully this time they won't fucking suck.

Harshest conflict of the weekend for me. Luckily Mogwai is playing a local show next Tuesday so I'll just go to that and see QotSA at Coachella.

why is no one talking about this set? they absolutely tore the main stage a new one. Opening with No One Knows in the dust storm was the highlight of my weekend.

yep. it was kinda the perfect Coachella set. QOTSA in their hometown (sorta) in the middle of a crazy dust storm. I can't imagine a much better setting to see them in. they sounded incredible, even with the equipment starting to break down a bit towards the end. i hadn't seen them in several years and I was reminded just how fucking great they are as a live band.

This set was nothing short of perfection. From the first song to the most scorching version of song of the dead they could muster, it was epic. I have seen them before and I was bored to tears, but I can tell you this, I am converted! I will never forget this set.

QotSA nailed it. The dust was wreaking havoc but it didn't really seem to phase them, other than Josh acknowledging it was a problem. Besides the good songs I was floored by the overall musicianship of the band. These guys can flat out play. I missed Mogwai to see them play (which I'll make up for tomorrow at El Rey) and glad I did.

I had a prime location for this set right in front of the sound booth. Best sounding set on the main that I saw. They were tight, crisp, clear, professional. Great set list, wasn't bored for a second. It was so good that I just went back to camp after it was over. (Didnt want to miss DARKSIDE, but i was cold and tired) Pixies/QOTSA were headliner enough for me.

Have been saying since last year just how fuckin tight they are as a unit and it just continues to get better. I came out to Coachella for this one set and dealing with the dust, traffic getting into parking, and close to 4 hours of driving was never a negative, it was all worth it to see my favorite band. Right as we got there MGMT took the stage. Walked up to stage left to watch with the other lucky souls with production passes and the whole band was up there watching, got to hang with Josh and the boys, share a few words with 'em. Then during Queens we took our same spots and all of a sudden Steven Tyler is standing right next to me watching them, too. Well, when he wasn't making out with his 20 something year old girlfriend.

When "In My Head" started? Holy shit lost my mind, haven't seen that song live in forever, not on e at the 3 shows I saw last year, such a great surprise.

I'm still recuperating so I don't have the right words to articulate how much I loved this set.
As a bonafide techno lover I often forget how mindblowing a solid hard rock set can be.
I don't even remember why I had my doubts about having a good time with the lineup in general.
