this is extremely exciting news. i saw him do it at rock the bells in new york in 2011, and it was amazing. someone said the same thing above, and i agree: this definitely just moved up to my second most anticipated set (behind outkast). i dont really see this happening on the main stage.. any chance he gets to close the outdoor theater? i think he's too big for a tent. damn im excited!

Actually more excited for this than I am for Outkast now. Even though the reunion thing is a big deal and its a huge thing, this album is in my top 5 personal favorites and he was great last time I saw him. I am sure I'm the only one who feels that way. Those are for sure my top sets for this year though.

Hearing the trumpet solo from "Life's a Bitch" live would be all kinds of dope.

He was on real time with bill Maher talking about illmatic. Seemed a little uncomfortable doing the interview but he was probably just stoned.

On Fallon the other night Nas and Q-tip did 'One Love' with The Roots as the backing band. It was groovy as hell and got me so excited. He better be bringing a live band with him or else I'm not sure I even want to check it out.

I was so glad that he decided to forgo the live band and just had a DJ instead. The beats on Illmatic just wouldn't have been done justice by a band in my opinion. Got to hear those beats probably the best way they could've been heard: blasting out of a big ass, state of the art sound-system. and while Nas has never been a master of breath control during live shows, I thought he performed as well as I've ever seen him.

The whole show sounded so damn good from beginning to end. And I was so excited I got to hear Jay-Z play perhaps my all-time favorite song of his, "Dead Presidents".

"Argue all day about who's the best emcee, Biggie, Jay-Z, or Nas?"

Gza --> Pharrell --> Nas made for a pretty incredible Saturday night of hip hop.

My favourite set of the weekend. 20 years to the day Illmatic was released, Lauryn Hill and Damien Marley. Need I say more. Felt like I was in 1994.

Certain live band's could have really pulled it off well. Will Sessions, the band that did Elmatic, plays those beats perfectly live. Miguel Atwood-Ferguson as well. But if you couldn't get the right band then agree that this was the best way to go about it. Those who go to hear Dead Presidents are so damn lucky.
