Because I have a white knight complex:
    Tiesto closed after RHCP 2007
    Tiesto closed after Muse 2010
Chem Bros closed after KOL 2011
Swedish House Mafia closed after Black Keys 2012

And Black Star closed after NIN 2005, but that's still bizarre to me.

All of this makes Skrillex closing after Muse in 2014 fairly likely.

For those who are interested, here's the tracklist from FBS' set at the Carl Cox Arena/megastructure at Ultra. Significantly less "cheese" than that mainstage set. Hoping for something more like this at Coachella.

nonononono. Muse is on their 20th anniversary tour. 20th!!!!!! you really think they'll come back to coachella to be dissed again by having some edm artist close the fest afterwards? This will be a big show for muse and they deserve to close the fest on their own. They should get a 2 hour set.

You missed chemical bros after Bjork in 2002.

I had the chance to see him before but passed for better. its a shame he never does live sets like underworld or orbital could. he's got a few gems from back in the day. Its bullshit these guys are getting a free pass being a "big name" act booked. All he does is probably bring a flash drive play for 2 hours, grabs his check and bounces. Its a shame.
He is much better sober nowadays then when he was fucked up at Good Vibrations in 2009.

Anyways, I'd kill for a set like this he did at Brighton's Big Beat Reunion 4 years ago

You also forgot Kraftwerk in 2004 after Radiohead. and daft punk did close out the festival in 2006 after the Mode...

It wouldn't be so bad if skrillex shm and tiesto combined were as fun as a chem bros daft punk or kraftwerk set. Please let muse close goldenvoice.
    Spicy pie is mainstream shit.

his style is more mash-up recently due to his switch the Serato. He takes a lot of classic tunes and mashes them up with current top50 tracks. but who knows its Coachella he could play anything its not like he hasn't played here before he knows the crowd

Neither kraftwerk nor daft punk closed out the main stage, though, which is what travelfan was listing examples of.

You forgot to mention the Chemical Brothers closed the main stage in 2002, eventhough Bjork was headlining.

Also, I believe Black Star closed in 2005 because Trent and the rest of NIN had to leave immediately after to catch a flight or something? It was something like that.

I've never understood why FBS and Daft Punk are so high on this pedestal. Enough already. I've been a fan of electronic music since Lords of Acid-Lust. Along the way I've fallen in love with DnB, Happy Hardcore, Hardstyle, Cheesy Anthem Trance(90's), DubStep, Electro(when it was good), etc etc etc but I've never understood what the fuss is about Daft Punk n FBS. I want to. I do. Am I missing something? Huge build ups.....into weak transitions....wa wa It's like banging your heart out, getting ready to cum and blowing a dime sized load. I guess its not for me.

Have you ever listened to Daft Punk's Homework or Fatboy Slim's Better Living Through Chemistry or You've Come a Long Way Baby? Or Fatboy Slim's many other aliases such as Pizzaman or Freakpower? Or his role in Beats International and Housemartins?

All of this is good, but Fatboy doesn't play any of it anymore.

He's been stuck in the EDM Cheese House vacuum for a while.

I'm afraid you're right. If Fatboy couldn't play decent stuff at Movement (in the birthplace of techno) then I suppose it would be too much for him to play more funky shit in the Sahara.

    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Say what you will about Norman but he is a DJ first and foremost. Meaning he'll play what he thinks the crowd wants to hear, and he's usually right on, for good or bad. I have a feeling he knows the difference between the ULTRA crowd and the Coachella crowd, although the overlap in the Sahara is pretty big.

Which is to say he'll play a lot of the Beatport top charts, but he'll also mix in a bunch of fun stuff, including his classics. It should be a fun if not essential set.

Spot on! Which is what makes Norman great. One of the last few "true DJs"

I reallllly enjoyed his set in 2008. I have listened to many of his sets in the time since, and i do not dig what he spins for the most part. hoping he takes me by surprise though
