and this is why I'm crossing my fingers in hopes that GV gives Outkast a 5 hour set.

I'd settle for 2, but they'll probably get 90 minutes. There are so many tracks I want to hear that I know I am not going to.

I want to see this song live, but I highly doubt it happens.

    fuck.

(Just to clarify, I totally support the unrealistic desire to see a five-hour Outkast set.)

Hmm not too many posts in this thread. Dre and Snoop's was like at 500 by a month after the 2012 lineup release. I guess the buzz for this set has fizzled?

There was this thread as well. For some reason it's in the rumors section.

yeah there's like 4 different active Outkast threads going on and I feel like I've made up 10% of the posts in them. This is my #1 most anticipated set ever, probably.

A giant oversized bedazzled shirt with giant pictures of her face on the front AND back? Who does this bitch think she is...the Big Show from the WWE?

No point in addressing the cover song. What a nightmare zone.

I didn't even bother watching the video. As an Outkast aficionado, I am offended by the idea the performance, and I am not even a HUGE fan of "Hey Ya!".

I'm gonna get on the hate bus here and say I fucking HATE Hey Ya!. It was they're biggest cross over song to the white liberal college culture(when it came out)...that's for damn sure.

mighty big statement for a noob huh

Yeah, Ms. Jackson definitely had the white liberal college crossover covered. Hey Ya just took that to the next level.

I know it's fashionable to hate Hey Ya and even though I like the song I sort of get it, because as a huge OutKast fan it is wildly divergent from anything they've ever put out before (I remember when either Source or XXL wrote a huge article about their internal debate to even review The Love Below as a hip-hop album) and of course, even grandmothers love the song so it's "mainstream". But I don't have any doubt that the breakdown will be the best crowd reaction and dance party of the weekend...that is, until B.o.B. annihilates the city of Indio and everyone in it. It's going to be a blast.

Hey Ya is probably the best pop song from the last decade.

I would agree with this. The song has always felt timeless in my opinion. It'll still be a hit in 40 years.

I didn't like Hey Ya! at all initially. My initial reaction to it was "What the fuck is Andre doing? He's one of the best lyricists in the history of hip hop and he is doing this?". I wanted to hear him rhyme, not that weird poppy shit. But, over time, I was able to look at it for what it was and appreciate the entire album. Hey Ya! is a great song, but I am not a big fan of it because I prefer Andre as an emcee.
    fuck.

I see what you all mean about "hey ya" but it's still a great song. Having not heard the song much in a while it will be refreshing live on the polo field. A similar argument could be said about "the way you move." It's basically Big Boi's solo single, very accessible by the majority, but still a great jam! In the end both are great songs backed by incredible mc's with catchy chorus.

Hey Ya! is a pop song, but it's still a better pop song than most of the other crap. I would rather listen to Hey Ya! than anything that's in the Top 40 right now.

Amen to all of this. Love Below was a weird (but great album). Everyone will dance and sing for Hey Ya and Roses, but then if they close with B.O.B, well... its going to be very difficult for the rest of the weekend to live up to that. WHY AREN"T THEY CLOSING SUNDAY???
