15,000 cars in a single lane of traffic is not a recipe for smooth transport, going up Thursday/Friday or coming back Sunday/Monday.

Vancouver to Whistler will be fine, it's the Whistler to Pemberton part that has people worried.

my Immediate thought after hitting post was "well that won't help for opening day and closing night" but hopefully the days in between run smooth

The biggest problem in 2008 was getting to the site on Sunday afternoon. Saturday afternoon had trouble with members of Flaming Lips and My Morning Jacket arriving moments before they were due onstage.

Outkast have 7/20 on their website.

    Soundgraden/NIN have to be Friday

    This leaves Deadmau5 for Saturday.

    A few others:

    Friday July 18th
-Above & Beyond (who are also being broadcast to Spain's Benicassim Festival?)
-Grimes (TIME in Toronto on the 19th, Pitchfork on the 20th. Yikes)

    Saturday July 19th
    -Snoop Dogg
    -Flaming Lips

    Sunday July 20th
-Frank Ocean (opening up for OutKast)

Also, pitchfork clears it up a bit more too:
-St. Vincent is playing Pitchfork on the 19th, which means she's playing the 18th or 20th.
-Kendrick, Schoolboy Q and Earl Sweatshirt are playing pitchfork on the 20th, so either the 18th or 19th

I'd say Death Grips is a likely add since they play in Toronto on Saturday and then with NIN/Soundgarden at Red Rocks on Monday.

Good gap between coming back from Europe and doing some more American fests. Maybe a quick stop in Canada? They played such a good set at Coachella...

Aside from that, any other good late adds that are possible?

I wonder if Warpaint will do two sets at Glasto again. But yeah, a Pemberton add would be good.

What's weird is that Warpaint said they are playing lots of festivals in North America this year/summer. They have open dates to play Squamish/Pemberton/Bumbershoot.

They did just play a solo show in Vancouver on Sunday, so that's a partial explanation for holding back an announcement.

Looks like there might be a decent amount of adds to come, possibly including: Banks, Brandi Carlile, Bryan Adams, Dada Life, Justice, Mac Demarco, Mother Mother and Wild Feathers.

There are placeholder webpages for each of those artists and you can see them all listed if you scroll down to the lineup on this "page does not exist" link: http://pembertonmusicfestival.com/lineup/abba

Looked at Banks' site, she's in London on the 18th and 19th, Dublin on the 20th, so I don't think that's happening. Shame. But Bryan Adams could happen, as could the Vancouver bands I think.

I don't give much worth personally to Bryan Adams, his songs always annoyed the shit out of me, but I suppose he is a legacy act. Curious where he'd go on the poster. But I imagine all the artists listed would help sell more tickets.

    In any case, good sleuthing!

Mac Demarco is in Buffalo/DC on Friday/Saturday then 3 weeks off
Wild Feathers are in Nashville for Sunday, but open the week before.
Mother Mother and Justice don't seem to have dates. Justice I can only see as a DJ gig.

I was told a couple weeks ago by someone that knows Bryan Adams guitar tech that he was playing. The demographic attracted in 2008 with Petty/Hip needed more to get them up to the 2014 edition. I'm curious on the Bryan billing since he headlined to 30,000 in Osoyoos back in 1992. Fun with useless obscure facts.

I just wish they would do a proper full show in LA in support of the album.

Anyone else thinking about doing this? Lodges in Whistler are cheaper than a motel 6 for Coachella.

Damn, what's up with everyone requiring a non-refundable deposit of the first night plus the taxes?

Whistler is a very, very rich area and anyone who owns property in Whistler, or any of the cities on either side, is probably quite well off. Whistler is also known as party city. People go there to get fuuuuuuuuucked up. So when people rent out their place, they want serious inquiries only and they probably want to keep the younger and/ or less affluent away from their property. A hefty non-refundable deposit is a good way of ensuring that.

I sure hope this little fest gets high numbers for attendees. The twitter and instagram things they say worry me sometimes, almost like they're feeling desperate. Yet no single-day tickets/lineup yet

It certainly puts OSL and Lollapalooza to shame. It may take a while to rebuild an audience after the 2008 debacle.

And fuck the rich. Even the big hotel chains are being unreasonable, demanding holds of the full amount. Ugh, maybe I'll just camp.

Even doing the weekend on a shoe string budget is going to be close to $500.

The location is a pain to get to and the promoters are not offering shuttles from Vancouver or anywhere to park. Both were available in 2008.

Looks like a bus from Vancouver to Whistler and a shuttle from Whistler to the festival is my best bet. I need to find out how shuttles or camping work when there as media, etc.

Tour dates leave open Avril Lavigne and Billy Talent. I see them both as possible to boost ticket sales from the general randoms. Bryan Adams too, as mentioned earlier.

Still think Warpaint is a good possibility too, though. If they're added too, then I don't care how much cheese is added to the top. Maybe we'll also get lucky with Japandroids, or even an Alexisonfire reunion (City & Colour dates could line up as a side on that)

Saw an internet Pemberton ad, it specifically says "More acts just added!" Went to the site, nothing up yet.

I'd say the added bands should be up there tonight. But reading back on this thread, any kind of fuck-up is still possible

Official adds and daily breakdown. No daily tickets.

    http://pembertonmusicfestival.com/li...eup%20Announce

    JUSTICE (DJ Set)
    CHANCE THE RAPPER
    RANDY NEWMAN
    REBELUTION
    LINDSEY STIRLING
    MINUS THE BEAR...
    FOXYGEN
    TRITONAL
    ARAABMUZIK
    3LAU
    CASHMERE CAT
    TREASURE FINGERS
    THE BOOM BOOMS
    BREAK SCIENCE
    THE MADD WIKKID
    NOSTALGHIA
    And Comedy From JAY PHAROAH

Randy Newman is a super curveball and I'm "meh" on the rest. Where's Bryan Adams?

Another note of interest is the BC liquor board just granted "Rock The Shores" on Vancouver Island a liquor license at a music festival without beer gardens. Not sure if it's a one-off trial.

Awww, I was hoping for Warpaint.

The FAQ says there will be six stages, including one tent and the music goes from 12:30pm-2am Friday and Saturday and until midnight on Sunday. And assuming a comedy tent. Wonder how the rest will be spread out since right now we are at under 30 acts a day.

Also VIC Fest in Victoria will also have no beer gardens, so heres hoping Pemberton can go the same route
