How do ticket sales and lineup announcements work? I'm considering going this year, and I heard early bird tickets will be going on sale in a couple weeks, and then the lineup announced after coachella, then regular ticket sales?

say i buy an early bird ticket, then end up not liking the line up... are tickets easy to sell? I feel like its not as popular as coachella, and i don't want to end up losing money!

or what if i wait to buy it until after the lineup is announced, do they sell out quickly? or will it be fairly easy to buy?

It will probably sell out closer to August and you will be fine getting tickets after the lineup is released. If you are unsure then why not just wait? Is saving a couple of bucks worth the headache?

If you buy the Eager Beaver tickets and don't like the lineup, you could sell them for face value and probably get some takers since by then the prices would have gone up.

Outside Lands can be relied upon for a solid lineup.

But if you are havering about going, you should probably wait. Personally I'm going to get tickets the first chance I get, because I know the lineup will have enough on it, even if the headliners aren't great - like last year, where Macca was the only one of the three I had any interest in seeing at all.

It's remarkably easy to sell eager beaver tickets and get your money back.

Thats a definite maybe. No reason for him to be skipping SF on this tour. He's played Hardly Strictly recently, but its been a few years so you could be on to something. He definitely fits the vibe of the fest. Good catch.

Does this confirm just Paolo or Adele as well?

    Definitely just Paolo Nutini.

Although booking Adele would be the most left-field coup ever.

Lolla's line-up is out and I would expect around 15 or so bands to be at both fests (don't have time to do exact numbers but the past couple years have had about that many bands at each fest.)

Of note, Cut Copy is billed higher than Chromeo and nice to see Blood Orange is touring around then.

I have faith that the OSL line-up will be significantly better. Sunday at Lolla is just terrible. I hope that we get the early bird ticket sale date today.

Lolla crossover wishlist (that haven't been confirmed already):

    Phantogram
    Jungle
    Run The Jewels
    Phosphorescent
    The Temper Trap
    Gesafflestein
    Airborne Toxic Event
    Lucius
    NONONO
    Bronze Radio Return
    Typhoon

I was real jealous of them pulling Chase and Status...but it is listed as just a DJ set

My bad. Totally spaced on that, since I am a fan of that album. Big Boi does guest on Banana Clipper but I'm still an idiot. Must be after effects of Kraftwerk last night.

Well, I hope they are there then.

Well, it' not a flat $30 increase. The second level pricing only went up by $25. Still a substantial increase. I'm curious what the regular on-sale price will be now. Given this info looks like it will be closer to $275.

Anyone got a guess on how much ticketmaster service fees and charges will be? I'm trying to get my bank account ready.

I think the last couple of years, fees were around $20. Not the best, but could be worse considering I've paid $20 fees on a $60 ticket before.
