Just a general question - does a festival like outside lands try to get bigger every year, like with bigger/more expensive acts or have they reached their peak

They've booked the biggest acts out there. I guess they could try and get to lollapooza status but they would need an EDM tent.
    Spicy pie is mainstream shit.

You are incredibly negative on OSL for someone who spends a lot of time in this thread.

Right. In the last couple of years since I've been going, the undercard has been nothing short of stellar, as it were. I wasn't keen on RHCP or NIN last year, but that really didn't put me off going at all. Neither did the fact that almost everything Ranger Dave teased on instagram was a dance act. The depth of the festival is what makes it for me. There are plenty of top heavy festivals to go to if that's what really floats your boat.

I seriously doubt anyone expects a crappy lineup from OSL. It's just a bit of fun working out who will/won't be there.

Really? Yeah they werent the "it" band last year, but the year prior I recall there was a lot of hype for them. I honestly found their set to be fun and surprisingly energetic. It was a nice way to end the festival.

Scratch that about Mac DeMarco... Looks like he's playing the Great American in July.

Agreed. RHCP put on a good show. It was a lot of fun and they sounded terrific.

I agree. I think RHCP was a fun way to end the weekend.

I would think Kanye is more probable since he is doing a festival tour and he is signed on to do Bonnaroo.

June 12-15:Bonnaroo 2014 along with Elton John and Vampire Weekend.
    June 28:BRÅVALLA-FESTIVAL in SWEDEN.
    July 4: Wireless Festival.
    July 25-27: Fuji Rock Festival.

The Killers headlined NSSN at Oracle December 2012, and had two nights at Bill Graham last April...I'd kinda hope OSL would get headlining acts that haven't played here that much that recently.

Adding to the Bruce fire, he's rumoured to play Europe in summer, then US in fall. He hasn't played SF proper since maybe 2002, and of course he has no west coast dates yet. He will definitely be announcing more dates soon, since his current US tour doesn't even have NYC, NJ, Philly, etc on the itinerary. Most people on Backstreets.com seem to think a 2nd US leg tour announcement in April, would line up with OSL announcement.

He hasn't played SF but he has played in Oakland and San Jose recently. Not that it matters much.

Grew up in the North Bay, going to school at Poly. Love the central coast.

Wish we got better music acts though. They all go to Santa Barbara.

I wanted to see Modest Mouse last year but I missed out.

Luckily I'm actually going to Coachella this year. There are rumors that Chance The Rapper is going to play at Poly in between Coachella weekends, which would be awesome. A million times better than Schwayze.

STRFKER was announced at Slo Brew I believe.

MM was good last year. I'm NOT going to Coachella this year, so I'll take all I can get haha. Chance would be very very cool.

So, Ray Lamontagne just announced a tour...no Bay Area stop and plays Red Rocks 8/7, Salt Lake City 8/8 with a gap before Oregon 8/12 and Seattle 8/13.

I didn't go because lol Shwayze, but Shwayze was like two hours late.

He then posted a video about it which is one of the most douchiest things I've ever seen

Also Morello is playing with Bruce and Morello is playing with Rage at LA Rising in August. Could make it a pretty easy travel to play so Cal one weekend and OSL the next or vice versa

    Tom Morello‏@tmorello·2h
“@mries27: @tmorello Will you be with Bruce on any of his U.S. dates starting in April?” All of em

Did anybody go to his set in 2012 at Sutro? That was quite interesting.

Especially This Land Is Your Land.
