The following are at Way Out West in Sweden which runs Aug 7-9. Would think this makes them all unlikely.

    neutral milk hotel
the national (wasn't happening anyway after them playing last year)
    royksopp and robyn
    QOTSA
    janelle monae
    blood orange

Could definitely see New Politics there at Twin Peaks during the day. They have a sold out show at the Independent this Sunday.

Love the fake but Deafheaven is out as they are at Oya fest in Norway on Aug 8. Fully expect to see them at Way Out West too. Slowdive and Darkside are playing Oya on Aug 9th so they are likely out too.

They're playing Shoreline late July and then in Canada in August...they're out.

Best part about the fake poster is the paint job on the date change. Also wouldn't Sheryl Crow be billed higher if she were to actually play? I see her in the Hall & Oates, Fogerty main stage time slot.

It's also worth following the Ranger Dave account on Twitter; he often drip feeds abstract clues. Then a couple of weeks before the lineup announcement, he uses the instagram to post album covers of confirmed act (He often leaves a lot off, but it's always kind of fun).

I personally would hold off on Eager Beaver tickets. It is only something like 10$ cheaper or so, not really worth it without knowing the line up IMO. Also this never sells out super fast anyways. I guess that could change but if last years took a long time to sell out I don't see why this years wouldn't.

I'm hoping my brothers schedule allows him to go this year but who knows. The hard life of being a med student doing rotations.

When it did it between the Eager beaver and the advanced tickets or whatever the next price level is called was only 10.

I think it was close to $100 difference last year.

There are in fact three levels; the eager beaver things sell out literally in three minutes (ticket master app recommended), then for half an hour or so (or perhaps longer) there are "advanced" tickets, which were something in the region of $50 odd cheaper than full price tickets. Essentially you are gambling for $50 or so that the lineup isn't going to stink. I think it's a definite gamble worth taking. Outside Lands is quite a gentrified festival - the food and beer and wine and chocolate lands are half the attraction. A below par lineup will have a) enough else going for it and b) plenty on the undercard to make it worthwhile, if you ask me.

Yes. Unlike other major music festivals, where there is a healthy presence of lower socioeconomic brackets, OSL is quite gentrified.

8/30: Peaking Lights @ The Chapel
9/3: Bear in Heaven @ The Independent
9/11: Tomas Barfod @ The Rickshaw Stop
    9/12: Shifted @ Mercer
    9/24 - 28: Decibel Festival
    10/3-5: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival
    10/4: Ought @ BoH
10/5: The War on Drugs, Cass McCombs @ The Fillmore
    10/18-19: Treasure Island Music Festival

Perhaps the wrong word, but you get my point.

Yes. I can't think of a good term that could describe the mindset of most of the OSL goers, but it's definitely fair to say that music is not the primary reason a good chunk of them go, and they behave as such, which has made for some exceedingly frustrating moments every time I've gone.

I blame it on the people who work in Silicon Valley and their buses.

Danny Brown is skipping SF on his tour in April-May (Although he has a date in Santa Cruz among five California cities). It makes me feel like he will definitely be at OSL since he is skipping the Bay Area and will be at Squamish on 8/8.

He seems like a middle of the day Twin Peaks act.

Agree. That was infuriating. I felt like I was the only one there listening to the music. I'll need to be bowled over by a lineup before I go back.

Yeah if McCartney couldn't get me there last year I'm probably never going back. The crowd really pisses me off.

I'm like the only one that has never really had a problem with the crowd at Outside Lands. Maybe I'm part of the problem.

Danny Brown is a joke, my least favorite performance from Treasure Island festival last year. A lot of the crowd left to go do other things.
