nah, it's car camping. when you park, ignore the attendant (who is just a volunteer and likely doesn't actually give a shit) and leave as much room between your car and your neighbors car as possible. this is the only way to expand your campsite. getting there early wednesday sounds groovy but you'll likely have a shittay camping spot a good walk from the grounds. i'll put up directions later for what i've found to be the best entrance.

It should be all right since we intend to meet up with a friend from NY who is also camping with us, so we'll be on the same page space wise. and yeah, any help/info would be stellar since all of us are first-timers.

The was HCB explained parking is the only way to go. Park with a lot of space, shut car off, unpack. They'll give you grief for a minute and then move on. They can't afford to spend time on you giving yourself an extra 5 feet of space.

CoS only knows what they read on the boards. When the schedule leaked on the app, it had the bands listed at the time they were playing, but no end times, so people just guessed at that for the Clashfinder. The late night acts match up perfect as you said, so aside from maybe a few minor shuffles here and there and the calibration of the end times, I think this is pretty legit.

nah, whatever their shitty journalistic chops entail, it's pretty clear they have some source at ac/superfly. it's why they jock them as best fest every year.

either way, i just wanted to qualify t my statement that the schedule was out in case there was a stage flip or something that caused a conflict that didn't exist on the clashfinder.

schedules out. some end times are earlier than on the clashfinder and rudimental appears to be missing from the schedule.

1130 to 2 on Friday/Saturday morning is a huge clusterfuck of awful conflicts. I don't get why they even have Thursday if no one good plays it

Cake vs Bobby Womack and Lionel vs Lauryn Hill blows

Frank Ocean Flaming Lips and Nick Cave is awful

I don't get this festival sometimes

This has been Bonnaroo's M.O. for years. Every fest has conflicts, but they seem particularly adept at leaving massive blocks of time where there's nothing you want to see, and then packing five good acts all at the same time. I was thinking about going this year, but there would be nothing I want to see until about 6 PM on Friday, and then nothing after about 6 PM on Sunday. Saturday is beyond stacked, Thursday is awful save for a couple acts.

thursday is always too packed with people. i'm glad they don't schedule good acts that night. and this thursday is better than the past two. allah-las -> thao -> real estate -> cloud nothings -> omar souleyman -> ty segall is a very decent night.

in 4 years the worst conflict bonnaroo has ever given me is david byrne/st vincent against divine fits which is a no-brainer. nick cave/flips sucks but nick cave is easily the best live act on this lineup. another no-brainer.

slam the fest for having blocks where nothing is going on all day, but it's a function of set times being longer. bonnaroo is easier than coachella that way, which is cool because it's harder almost every other way.

I understand the complaints about some of the bad conflicts, but damn… this schedule would work out perfectly for me. Every day would be nearly packed. This is probably the best Thursday the fest has ever booked. I don't usually like the Bonnaroo schedules, but this year's schedule really makes me wish I was able to make it.

The Sunday schedule is one of the worst I've ever seen. Usually Bonnaroo stacks Sunday to keep people from leaving early, this year it's a lighter version of Thursday.

You might not like Elton John, Avett Brothers and Arctic Monkeys, but they will keep most people from leaving early.

Eh, I don't know that it makes Bonnaroo "easier." Having longer sets is all well and good, except when it means giving more stagetime to bands that frankly, don't need it. I like Chvrches, but do they really need a 75 minute set? Some thing with acts like Typhoon, Slightly Stoopid, etc.

And obviously whether or not a person thinks the schedule is great is a matter of personal preference, but all I know is that there's very little which interests me on Friday until the VW/NMH/Phoenix/Chvrches block, and then the late night when four great acts conflict in the first time slot. So from my perspective, out of the 15 or so bands playing Friday that I'd love to see, I might get to catch 3 or 4, or partial sets from a lot.

Saturday is near perfect, though. I could theoretically do Classixx, Seasick Steve, Bobby Womack, Damon Albarn, Phosphorescent, James Blake, Cut Copy, Jack White, Nick Cave/Frank Ocean, Darkside, which is outstanding. That might be one of the best overall days the festival has ever had.
