I think it's the best Sleepy Sun album to date. I was pleasantly surprised by it, and I already liked the band prior to this.

"Boys In The Wood" is fantastic. Are we talking about singles in here too or should I start a 2014 Singles thread? I really don't like to listen to full albums unless I've heard one or two killer tracks first.

Pangea or together Pangea or whatever they're going by has a new album called Badillac that came out today and it's up on Spotify and it's fucking rad.

Yeah it is! I think my post about it got lost on the last page, but I love this band and I hope this album will be a bit of a breakthrough for them.

Being an LA band, they're everywhere all the time around here so it seems like they broke through awhile ago haha. Hopefully they do go onto big things, though, yeah. Biggest burst of energy album I've heard in awhile.

Yeah I know how big they are in LA, but when they came to Phoenix last year they played at a sports bar to an audience of about 10. They're playing a real venue in February and I hope to see a bigger crowd.

Thee Silver's Mt. Zion's new record really is a thing of beauty. I've never listened to these guys before because I thought they always stayed an instrumental band, and I'm pretty picky with those. But this is great, the instrumentation and the vocals. I think they went for a sweeping epic, and they reached it quite well. Even the 14 minute track doesn't feel long enough. Plus, it has a really cool album name.

I'm assuming some of you have heard of Fever the Ghost because my internet research informs me that they are an LA based "buzz band." Their EP, Crab in the Honey is pretty fun psych-pop.

Wow, Coachella really dropped the ball by not having Damien Juardo play this year. New album Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son is pretty fantastic. Perfect sunset music... er... perfect music

Young Fathers is a Scottish hip hop trio with its members having Libian and Nigerian backgrounds. They are just getting ready to release their first full length album, Dead, and it's really fucking good. The songs are incredibly listenable and the production is very interesting and original. These guys are really fucking talented.

I've been pushing Pangea to this board for a couple years! Seen em live more times than I can even remember (hell my avatar is even from one of their EPs covers). This is going to be a huge year for them and it has been a long time coming. If you haven't heard their previous material, check out Living Dummy, it is pretty awesome as well.

I have their first ep and love it, but only today noticed they had a second from last year, while reading up on them a bit. But yes, they are awesome!

not really the right thread for this, but I was just wondering if anyone else is also crazy excited about the release of the upcoming Withered Hand (aka Dan Wilson) album. I've been playing the single multiple times a day since it came out in November and it's still hasn't gotten old yet.

Hey, while this technically isn't 2014-related: does anyone want to send me the Jai Paul leak from last year? I can't find a working link for it anywhere. I want to hear it, demos or otherwise.
