    Whoa!

    Tickets on Sale November 14th.

Moogfest Expands to Five-Days Exploring the Synthesis of Technology, Art and Music

Moogfest 2014 Asheville, North Carolina: Wednesday April 23 – Sunday April 27

(Asheville, NC – Oct. 15, 2013) Moogfest is a celebration that honors the creativity and inventiveness of Moog Music founder Dr. Robert Moog, and pays tribute to the legacy of the analog synthesizer.

For over 50 years, Bob Moog and his company Moog Music have pioneered technology that has advanced popular music and culture, and ushered in a new era of artistic expression through sound and experimentation. It was in this very spirit that Moogfest was born. Now featuring an experimental lineup of daytime conference programming, curated by a soon-to-be-announced lineup of cultural, artistic and technological luminaries, and punctuated by nightly landmark music performances, Moogfest is a five-day event dedicated to the convergence of technology, art and music.

Since its inception in 2004, Moogfest has been a magnet for artists, engineers, and enthusiasts of Bob Moog and his legacy to meet, share, create and collaborate. When Moog brought the festival home to Asheville in 2008 it adopted a three-day multi-stage format to include contemporary bands and producers that exemplify the innovative spirit of Moog and electronic music. This year, Moogfest is further expanding its program to include a five-day innovation conference featuring leading futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, artists, and musicians from various fields that will expand the mind as well as entertain.

"We have evolved our thinking to create an event that truly celebrates the pioneering spirit of Bob Moog; uniting art, music, and innovative technology to explore the dimensions of creative expression. This is the heart of what makes Moog Music special and our fans around the world." - Moog Music President, Mike Adams

On April 26 and 27, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and experience the companies that are creating the tools and technology of tomorrow. Attendees will have the ability to network with these companies and discover employment opportunities. Companies will have the opportunity to meet like-minded businesses and forge new bonds, while exhibiting the technology that has made Asheville an innovation incubator.

Without our next headliner, much of what you're going to see at #Moogfest would not exist. Find out who it is tomorrow…

"Like Bob Moog paved the way in the synth world, this act laid the groundwork for electro-pop and they're headlining #Moogfest! Guess who?"

"Tomorrow we announce the Moogfest 2014 headliner(s) that revolutionized the electronic music movement. #respect "

If this wasn't so close to Coachella and I wasn't already going to Austin Psych fest I'd be in for this.

I am probably just going to shoot for the next Mountain Oasis.

    Wow do I love Asheville.

Does a night pass get you into the Kraftwerk 3D shows? I couldn't afford to hit any of the LA dates coming up in March. Might still do that. If not I'll fly to NC after Coachella for this. Rest of the lineup is a complete and utter disappointment. Almost can't believe.

The festival is also known for its guest speakers, and there are several new additions on both fronts. Daytime programming will now include Deerhunter's Bradford Cox, Yeah Yeah Yeahs multi-instrumentalist Nick Zinner, electronic artist Dan Deacon and Futurama creator David X. Cohen. They join a roster that already includes avant-garde pioneer Laurie Anderson and dance music legend Giorgio Moroder.

Other night-time acts include German electronic duo Moderat, noise experimentalists Black Dice and Canadian producer Tiga. Each night will also feature a strong lineup of showcases curated by Moog-friendly record labels such as Mad Decent, Warp Records, Ghostly International, DFA and Fool's Gold.
