...Also, after peeking at the FAQs off the Snowglobe website, it stated that both Sat and Sun sold out last year.

Yeah. I've just been worried about the emphasis on the whole wrist band thing.

Dont they do breakfast of champions at the Mighty? Do they do anything on nye or just breakfast of champions on new years day. BoC seems like complete sketchville though. This could finally be the year where I grow up and just do a nice dinner nye and go home with the "respectable" people.

I also feel like someone told me there isn't going to be a Sunset Stompy NYE party? WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?

Yea, BoC is on New Year's Day, I can't remember if they have usually had nighttime events -- if they did, it would have to be something early in order to have the place set up for BoC.

There is nothing wrong with having an respectable / old persons' NYE. If nothing really compelling comes up, I will probably do that. We go out every week, we have nothing to prove on NYE.

I said I thought I'd heard Cafe Cocomo was being sold? I heard it's not happening or isn't happening at the same venue.

Okay, I misread their post. This is what Stompy had to say about Cafe Cocomo before the Labor Day party:
"It's time once again to wrap up our outdoor series at Cafe Cocomo. After 12 years, this could be the last time we party on the patio at Cafe Cocomo as the club is slated to close next year in exchange for a new housing development.

We'll be back for New Years Day and President's Day inside, but this is our last party with sound on the patio for good.
Come enjoy the dancing in the Sun one more time..."

Yeah but I wanted one last go at it in my thirties. Its just a bummer that we live in a world class city but the options are kinda weak this year. Im sure Farina or Migs or maybe some of the wicked guys will do something.

You know, for a city that is so eager to party, I feel like we've usually had poor options for NYE. I expected as much given it's mid-week. Hopeful for something good the weekend before?

They sold single day tix early December last year.

They gave you a separate wristband each day for single day tix holders. Multi-day had their own. It was ok. Crowd is very similar to TI fest. Was there for 2 hours and was over it. Last year was absurdly cold so that also played a factor. I liked Tahoe for NYE however.

You guys can't really be considering going to Snowglobe. (I would have been up to go to Tahoe without Snowglobe if I had more than one day off... )

I'm in Reno, so it's really only a 45 min drive for me.

Yeah, it's outside. I don't do well in the cold. Also - I know the type of people that go to Tahoe from the Bay Area for NYE. And I hate them.

There should be. And honestly, with the (hilarious) fan upheaval over the announcement of Cut Copy they probably will have to do single day tickets just to make their money back for Tiesto and Kaskade. Which means NYE could be empty. It could be the best Snowglobe ever.

Ha..I doubt that, but it's a good fantasy. I'm just curious to see what the day lineups look like. My NYE options are pretty slim right now.

Aw come on, don't rain on my parade THAT fast! Honestly, people are infuriated over the Cut Copy announcement. There could be a mass exodus. Which I am perfectly ok with.

My friends did a house party last NYE. I think I personally witnessed two people puke into things other than trashcans or toilets. They vetoed the idea of doing a party again this year.

Also, our conception of "house party" is pretty exclusive and wouldn't encourage strangers/raging. SCATTEGORIES!

A reasonable amount of booze, board games, appetizers (including roasted vegetables), and records.

Mighty's NYE is generally breaks themed. (i.e. Stanton Warriors' 57th SF appearance of the year or somesuch)

I can't wait until someone shows up to yell at us for using this thread to talk about our own NYE plans rather than the event.
