Seems like a good deal on the cheaper end.

Would U.S. folks who've taken this trip recommend it? Or is it better to go backpacker style (or buy supplies in London) and get a spot on one of the normal campgrounds?

If you have the money to spare, go for it. It's the most convenient option since the farm is massive and hauling around a lot of stuff is a pain in the ass. Toilets and showers sound nice, too.

Fleetwood Mac was strongly rumored to headline, but it looks like that is is less likely now.

Yes. This set up got great reviews last year. It also allows you to show up whenever you want on wednesday, instead getting caught up in the land grab free for all.

I thought I read something about all headliners being new to Glastonbury? I'm probably out of the loop but just wondering what the latest headlining rumors are.

I was saying it won't be taken down. Press releases went out today too. Maybe Spooks will post it somewhere if we are lucky.

"We're sitting with Disclosure and we can say that they'll be back, which is brilliant for us because they had an amazing year last year and they are one of the greatest British acts at the moment. So that's exciting too, so you can see them in a big slot. Somewhere."

Blondie also announced their scheduled Glastonbury appearance at last night's NME Awards with Austin, Texas while both Dolly Parton and organiser Emily Eavis have confirmed that the 'Jolene' singer will appear at Worthy Farm this year.

I'm enthused about Blondie, Massive Attack and the Manics. And hopeful for Prince. I opted to submit to the land grab and I'm taking a 4 A.M. Wednesday bus to the farm.

I only see myself doing this once, so I might as well subject myself to maximum stupidity. Any advice for a first-timer traveling (and, more to the point, packing) from the US would be super appreciated.

Hopefully Massive Attack at Glastonbury portends them touring the States in 2015 & returning to the Polo Fields.

Pack light. Farm is massive. Get wellies because if there is any rain (and there always is except that one time), your shoes are fucked.

You can get tents and sleeping bags onsite. Things cost more, but the plus is you don't have to bring them in with you. Just consider your own strength, endurance, and bank account before deciding what to bring and what to get onsite.

A tent with a full rain fly is a must. In 2009 I bought one onsite for 40 and it came with the wrong directions. Brought a better one in 2010 and I think it was 25 or 30.

Good call on the 4am shuttle. Camping is all about location and the popular spots are a clusterfuck. When the lineup drops, look at a map of the site and consider where you will be spending your time and plan accordingly. In 2009 I didn't arrive until Wednesday night and had to settle for a spot by the john peel tent. It was roomy there, and close to that stage as well as the dance village and other stage, but very far from all the after hours activities. Like, an hour from what used to be trash city.

Speaking of which, spend at least a couple nights in the Shangri la and other areas in the southeast corner. They get crazy after midnight, so if you're at the pyramid watching a headliner, I'd recommend you watch the end of the set from the back and then rush down as soon as it ends to beat the rush. Or else you'll be stuck in a queue. I think they limit access to those areas for safety reasons now. But they are insane and a must see. Napping during a scheduling lull in early or mid day is better than turning in early and getting a good nights sleep.

Watch at least one sunrise and sunset from the stone circle. Climb the hill at the park for a great view of the festival site.
