How are people still excited about RATM after all of this time? I could understand if they had some new material...

There will be new stage rants about Occupy Wall Street and Edward Snowden for this year's edition.

without a co-headliner like Muse to sell seats, i doubt RATM could sell anywhere as many tickets as they need to for this to be at the Coliseum. Was undersold as it was.

Wish I could have made it for the first edition. The line up was stacked in terms of quality big name bands.

Because they're a badass live band with a great catalog. Not everybody is into the hipster notion of "new is better". Better is better.

I've heard rumbling of them being in the studio.

It's the ONLY reason that makes sense to me why Brad Wilk is not doing the Sabbath tour after appearing on their new album.

Oh, is that what I said? "Newer is better"? Sorry if seeing a band do the same fucking thing over and over and over again gets a little tiresome. Rage Against the Machine doesn't get better with age.

Rage shows are the most intense concerts i've ever been to. So what if they have no new material, i'm pumped for LA Rising part 2. I can understand how it might get old, but it has yet to do so for me.

Sorry you've wasted your life saturating yourself with so many amazing acts that, without new material, they now lack amazement to you.
However the rest of us still appreciate greatness, and it doesn't matter how much we've been exposed to it.

    You decrepit mindless hipster.

Don't know why, but the first name that immediately came to mind was Tool.

Slowdive - Theatre at Ace Hotel, Nov. 8
First Aid Kit - Wiltern, Nov. 12

Unless it's the first show with new songs, whats the appeal of seeing TOOL in a stadiums when they wont allow live footage screens to be used and there'll likely be lots of chances to see them in much smaller venues?

Tool, another band who has been doing shows for the last several years without an album. Hopefully they actually do release an album early next year.

Are the Pixies still performing Doolittle too? I agree with Gribbz on this. Playing shows for years and years without any new music definitely makes a performance stale. Especially with these bands that rarely change up the setlist.

What do you mean lots of footage screens? Also the L.A. Coliseum is the only "stadium" they are playing and that's because it's a full day fest with multiple acts. Tool is an arena and ampitheater band and has been for more than a decade.

Unless it's the first show with new material, why would any TOOL fan want to see the band in a stadium with a truncated set, bad sightlines and no jumbotrons?

The hardcore Tool fan wouldn't. However the Casual fan that would go to this to see some bands would. Tool is a band that even the casual fan recognizes and would go to this to see.

Most people who don't like RATM were born after 1993 anyway. Remember when Brittany Spears gave you a boner in a short skirt, then stopped giving you boners, then shaved her head and gave you a boner again? That's right, 1993. You don't remember. You were still using over-sized crayolas and eating chapsticks around that time.

Whatever, Faxman. You're just the latest person to jump on this "hipster" trend of wanting new material from a band you like.

they placed giant flags over entire sections near the top. definitely packed on the lower tiers/floor, but plenty of nosebleeds were left open.

Daft Punk is playing everywhere, including my house. After this tour, they're going to have to take a ten year hiatus.
