I'd prefer 8PM PT (11PM Eastern) as well...

    Chime in now, kids!

I'd prefer as far removed from 7PM PST as possible. If I have to vote 8PM then so be it. 6PM (or earlier) works as well if that gets any votes.

8pm/9pm PST works for me. 6pm does not.

Alright - basically that's 4 people for 8PM PST on 8/29... consider that the new time.

Any chance we can get the draft order in a few days to plan accordingly, rather than the customary half hour or so before draft starts?

According to Yahoo our draft time is Thu Aug 29 8:00pm PDT. If our commissioner is a reasonable man, and I believe he is, that time will not change again.

As soon as everyone pays, I'll auto-generate the draft order- how about that? Who's your favorite commish?

Speaking of Drafts I had my big money league tonight and it totally slipped my mind. I was planning for it all day then I left my computer 30 mins or so prior started doing other things then started watching TV and slipped my mind. Of course my phone was upstairs and on silent so I didn't even hear any of the calls from my friends trying to see where I was. I mean Yahoo actually auto drafted a pretty solid team so I can't be to upset but still in a 500 winner take all I would like to have some control over my team. Oh well I screwed up no one to blame but myself.

Yeah I blame Real Sports and Hard Knocks. Like I said though it's a real solid team so I honestly don't know how much better I would have been actually able to draft myself. Only negative side is that it used the 8th and 9th round picks on Defense and Kicker, which I would normally wait til a few rounds later for Defense and last round for a kicker. Because of that my bench players aren't as strong as could be but have solid starters so yeah.

Fucking hell. I could see forgetting about the draft entirely but the fact that you were preparing for it and then forgot... For your sake I hope there was copious amounts of cannabis involved.

Also, curious, in what round did Yahoo start drafting your DEF and Kicker. I had a flight get changed last year and had to autodraft and I think yahoo drafted my kicker and defense in round 8/9. Unless they made changes to the system Yahoo will automatically fill every position on your roster before drafting bench players and I didn't find out until after that the only way to get around that is to put every defense and every kicker on your "do not draft" list. My team didn't do well that year.

EDIT: Never mind, you answered my question.

So how many people would be down for PPR? Not a full 1 point though, I think that's a bit too much. In one of my other leagues we have it set to 0.25 points and it has worked out great so far.

Didn't we also discuss having FAAB last year too?

I would be up for a rule change to .25 pts per reception, making this a "mini-PPR" league. In order to pass this new rule, we'd have to get the majority of the league to agree to implement this new system by Thursday's draft, as it would affect draft strategies/planning/etc.

Also, I would be up for a $100 FAAB "continual rolling list tiebreak" system for Waivers. See below:

If waivers are enabled, all players dropped from a team's roster are immediately placed on a waiting period from zero to seven days to give all managers a chance to claim those players. Choose the waiver processing option best suited for your league.

In a normal waivers systems, waiver priority determines which manager's request is processed first.

(CURRENT OPTION SELECTED) Continual rolling list: waiver claims are processed in waiver priority order and each successful claim moves a manager to the end of the waiver priority list

Reverse order of standings: waiver claims are processed in reverse order of standings and successful claims do not affect waiver priority list

Weekly rolling list based on standings: waiver claims are processed in reverse order of standings and each successful claim moves a manager to the end of the waiver priority list

In a Free Agents Acquisition Budgets (FAAB) waivers system, each manager receives a dollar amount to place blind bids on waived players. The manager with the highest bid at the end of the waiver period claims that player and that bid amount is deducted from the team's acquisition budget. If multiple managers place an equal bid on a player, tiebreak options are available as described above.

FAAB w/ Continual rolling list tiebreak
FAAB w/ Reverse order of standings tiebreak
FAAB w/ Weekly rolling standings tiebreak

This is a setting we'd need to decide on quickly as well.

    What say you, gentlemen?

    Speak now.

Why would put these up for votes when you completely dismissed the idea of an auction draft without seeing if others are interested in voting for that?

Because these are incidental changes for week-to-week action compared to completely overhauling the draft to be much more complex and time consuming for all involved. We're going to be lucky if we get ten guys in for the entire 90 minute/2 hour live draft... doubling the time span involved might exclude even more people.

That being said, for the record I did not completely dismiss anything. I said if there was enough interest (10-12 teams) I'd set up another league to be an Auction draft. I didn't see a single peep about that further, no volunteers or shout-outs from interested parties whatsoever. I would be up for it, you would be up for it... maybe the guys that didn't get into the "A" league? Maybe other fantasy junkies who would be in both leagues? Anyone? I don't care if it's a day before the season starts, if we have 10-12 guys interested in an Auction league, let's do it. But we're leaving this one alone as a standard snake draft.

Either way, it's selective campaigning. We know forming a second league would be tough, so deferring one suggested change to that solution is more-or-less dismissing it, while your suggestions are going to the front of the 'let's just change the existing league' queue.
