Thread: Coachellas downfall

    Default Coachellas downfall

This year was my third Coachella and I'm sad to say probably my last. Coachella has always been a place of great vibes until now. Upon entry I always try to help security with the search as much as possible to keep the line moving as fast as possible. But this year we were more or less raped by the biggest pompous ass security guard who could swear he smelled weed. At the end, nothing in my vehicle was put back the way it was found. The security guard just laughed it off while he continued to search under my car and under the hood to no avail. He wanted to thoroughly check our wristbands because he had decided we were guilty of something. Upon entry I expected the vibes to return to normal. But security seemed to just be a bunch of cop rejects with chips on there shoulders. Cochella staff: we've brought the right vibes every year, what's your problem? I will now only spend my money on festivals that actually practice the vibes they preach.

Vibes are not permitted in the campground per the FAQ, as they are potentially hazardous to elderly patrons and the infirm. Better compliance with posted rules and placards will significantly reduce your risk of hyperbolic sexual assault should you choose to return to the festival in future years.

Wait, so you've only been to three Coachellas, and this last one you got harrassed by some dumb security guard, and now you're calling it the "downfall" of Coachella? Something doesn't seem right.

Not a big fan of the strict security and police presence at Coachella either but that's more a product of the silliness of LA then anything of the festivals fault.

Can't say exactly but all LA fests seem to have strict security measures - more then I've experienced at fests elsewhere. It's more of a hassle then a true deterrent as ill still attend coachella. Maybe necessary to weed out the idiots like OP, I guess.

That's LA though, and that's because of HARD's massive fuck up at the LA Sports Arena that led to legislation and citywide crackdowns on major music gatherings. Indio is in Riverside County.

I imagine weekend 2 was a little more uptight than weekend 1 in the wake of the terrorist bombing at the Boston Marathon.

Weekend one was still a hassle.

Security is always stupid for some reason. But, weekend 2 was ridiculous. We got searched multiple times on the way to the entrance gate. Then, they would not let us wait in the grass in front of the gate--they were telling people to go around to the campground entrance, I think--I wasn't sure where they were gesturing for people to go... Expected us to sit in the dirt in front of the port-a-potties... Really retarded.

People like you are the downfall of Coachella. You come in with these high expectations of great vibes and then blame cops and security for ruining yours. Vibes are subjective and often created within yourself.

Raped? No you were checked extensively. Prepare smarter in advance next time and you don't run into half of your problems.

Glad to here you won't be coming back. This year was #7 for me and, if everything falls into place, 2014 will be #8 and I will be glad one less hippy cocksucker will be there.
