The fuckers wouldn't do Coachella the last two weekends for mega millions $$$, but they play a "surprise gig" in LA tonight for $20 a ticket. WTF?!?

i was going to finally pony up and see them this time around since it's rumored to be the last tour (again...) but then i saw ticket prices. even the shitty sports arena echo chamber nosebleed seats are over $100. while i recognize they are considered legends due to their early career and the fact that they are still around, musically they havent been relevant in over 30 years and they are just as greedy as ever, so i can do without even if that means i never get to see them.

You could take your chances worth the $85 tickets and hope you get something decent.

And what slackers, resting on their laurels after a stretch of (conservatively) nine classic albums from 1965 to 1972, with at least two other great albums after that.

Captain Canexplain, what's happening. The crew is going to Voodoo this year, you should add it to your list. Halloween that Thursday, Voodoo starts Friday, all in N'Awlins.

Hey that might be a great idea, not just yapping here. I thought we were going to Wonderworld but tics seem questionable. The Bridge is around that time, as I wanted it to be the last fest on my "64 tour" but bd is not on the weekend so I may skip that one. Camping, hotels, never done Voodoo, but slept many a trippy nights sleeping in Jackson Sq haha .... cr****

It's not in the Pantheon of Stones albums (Fingers and Exile being near perfect albums, imo), but most bands would be very happy to have that as their best album. Hang Fire, Neighbors, T&A, 'Friend are great songs and it had a seminal rock anthem (though not my favorite).

That said, their last 38 years have had their moments, but don't come close to that 65-72 period, which is as close to a Beatle-esque catalog in a short time-frame as anyone has put out. Very few acts have put something like that in such a 10ish year period.

Waiting On a Friend is like the only song on that album I can stand to listen to. and I have Some Girls memorized front to back.

'Rolling Stones Struggling to sell high-priced tickets'

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013...ickets-us-tour

I was a little suspicious when I found out they were going to release more $85 tix the day of the show. This told me that most likely a lot of the premium seats were not being sold, so to ensure that the lower bowl isn't completely empty they decided they better sell at a discount price to avoid the potential embarrassment. Just as I suspected, the reason they are releasing more $85 tix is because no one is paying their insane ticket prices!! I hope this is a lesson learned for the Stones. This is my favorite band of all time and I am ecstatic that I already procured my $85 tix, but their ticket prices and business practices are abominable. Shame on you Rolling Stones!!

Yeah those are some ridiculous and arrogant ticket prices, even for the Stones. Pretty cynical of them, too.

They posted a link to their FB page where you can register to be notified as soon as the $85 tix go on sale the day of the show
