Is it new though, or is it just the NPG plus Third Eye Girl?

Just the New Power Generation + the girls. This show looks like a fucking killer aftershow.

quoted from someone on the prince boards:

    Excellent show!!!
The band started around 1:50am basically doing the sound check live as peope were coming into the venue.
Ida was playing guitar and along with the regular band (the other 2 ladies) cora was on keys. The entire Hornz section was in the house and all 3 back up singers there + plus a guy singing backing vocals whom I have never seen before. Damaris Lewis danced ocassionally, and prince was in a very playfull mood.
After playing a new song (Big City) and a bit of Super conductor, Prince went into 1999. He took off his sun glasses and mouthed "seriously?!". He had a whole lot of fun with us.
The show was very funky and the hornz were tight.
Prince never picked up an instrument but sang just about every number. He was conducting the bend throughout and I swear Hannah never took her eyes off him as he was constantly calling out changes.
He gave the Hornz a good work out and I think each of them had at least 1 solo, the trombonist had 2 at least. Donna and Ida were completly backing the entire time. Ida had no solos and I think Shelby J gave Donna one solo during their version of the Gap Bands "Outstanding" other then that they were there for sure but not the focus.
Hornz were well intergrated into all the numbers during the show and came out for each of the encores.
I believe the first encoure was "Let's Work". For about 5 minutes while the band played the instrumental backing to the song, members of the Hornz section had a houseparty dance off between 3 of the Hornz memebers and someone else (not sure if he was a hornz player or someone else in a tux). Lots of popping and locking, running man and even the macarana came out.
Prince announced it something like "in this corner weighing 325 lbs collectivelly" and "in that corner...."
Damaris lewis acted like a "Round Girl" in a boxing match and in between dance offs announced "Round 1", "Round 2" and so on.
After a few more encore songs (and at about 3:50am) the show was over. Most of the room stayed waiting for another encore but when the bassest and a drum tech started breaking down the equiptment we all knew it was over.
The stage was so packed it was impossible to see everyone. I think i spied Cora 1 time and only about half of her was on stage. Liv, Shelby J and other back up singers were so far in the back you knew they were there but hard to see.

    Set List:

    Sound check:
    Outstanding (Shelby J)
    Main Show:
    Big City
    Superconductor
    1999
    Little Red Corvette
    Musicology
    Extra Lovable
    House party
    We're A Winner
    I never loved a Man
    Satisfied
I don't want nobody to give me nothing
    Housequake
    The Jam
    The Bird
    Jungle Love
    Glamorous Life
    Let's work
    U got the look
What have you done for me lately
    Which way is up
    Dancin' Machine
    Partyman
    It's Alright
Sounds so tight. But still, I love the "guitar-hero" shows from earlier. Seeing Prince and for him never to pick up an instrument would be a little weird. I'm sure it was fucking crazy tho

Same band from SXSW I believe

That would be cool but a straight 3rdeyegirl set would be epic! Maybe a headliner set with NPG+3rdeyegirl then maybe a secret rock set at one of the tents with just 3rdeyegirl, he loves to surprise

Would love for him to play Coachella again. I saw him a few months back with 3rd Eye Girl, and prince played guitar for most of the show, which I hear is pretty rare now. Even though it wasn't a setlist filled with hits, it was still awesome.
