I think the organizers under estimated how popular this festival would be. I've never been to anything this successful on the pier before. They should have had it at the HARD / FYF park.

Plus whoever was keeping track of the capacity didn't estimate it right and they obviously over sold the tickets.

If I had VIP tickets I probably would have had more fun because I could skip the entry line and get to stay in the non crowded VIP viewing areas.

I would be fucking pissed if I paid that much money for a festival of any kind and the sound sucked. Glad you guys had a good time though.

Wait, a festival run by a music/comedy duo wasn't state-of-the-art and similar to Coachella? The hell you say. When they announced this, the only thing I could think of was "Wayne Stock." It sounded great, but I was convinced it was going to be poorly run so I didn't bother.

Waynestock was pulled off in the end. I find your analogy insulting to Waynestock.

Is there a thread for 2014 http://lineup.festivalsupreme.com. This will be awesome! The State back together? Bill Hader & Fred Armisen. Peaches, Eagles of Death Metal, DJ Lance Rock etc.... Missed last years fest, but this looks like a ton of fun.

Yes. I will be buying tickets tomorrow. Sales are through frontgate.com so I'm wondering if there would be a payment plan, as they surprisingly had for FYF this year... If so, I may get the VIP tickets and see how that goes. Last year was enjoyable, getting to see The Mighty Boosh, Mr. Show, Fred Armisen, Eric Idle and others, but the Santa Monica Pier was way too small of a venue. I'm hoping for some improvements with them moving it to the Exposition Park

Ticket prices have been announced in the press releases, but not on the actual site. $99 for a single day pass, or $250 for VIP.

I'm in for 2014. The State reunion and Drunk History Live would be enough to get me over there, but I want to see like 75% of the lineup. I just watched the interview on KROQ and they talked quite a bit about learning from their mistakes last year (not enough bathrooms, no "flow" between stages, stand up tent too small.) I've got tickets to Bumbershoot this year, and I'm coming back to Coachella next year after a year off, but I think I'm most excited about this

Was just coming to ask about this. I have no idea what kind of a venue this is, though I guess I'm glad it's not going to be at a frickin basketball arena. Still, seems weird since the main complaint last year was that it was too crowded.

The thing I'm more concerned about...ordered tickets through Frontgate (which are digital tickets that still haven't been "delivered"), but now it's all through Ticketmaster? Frontgate hasn't exactly earned my trust over the past few years. At least they have a note on the Frontgate event page about the venue change and about all tickets being honored, but I hope they just send them out soon if they're not going to be involved from here on out.

The person complaining the most on Facebook (I didn't see that many) seems to think it's in the Shrine Auditorium- she mentioned that it's all seated and that there could only be one stage and that the "hallways are narrow". But the pictures of the venue are a big open convention center type hall, and it also says they are using the grounds. There's nothing that mentions the Auditorium.

I thought the Shrine was fine the couple of times I went to Hard Haunted Mansion years ago. I imagine it will be the same kind of set up.

Since they mentioned a seated stage, and they name "Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall," they could be using both, which could be cool as long as the counter programming keeps the crowd split up enough.

The only place I've seen the Auditorium mentioned was on their Facebook post, and that was a link to the venue's page. The venue calls itself "Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall", but all of the other Festival Supreme material says "Shrine Expo Hall and Grounds."

They also stated "There will be multiple stages--inside and outside--a seated stage & stages to stand and watch the ROCK!" Since the 2 top billed acts (Tenacious D and Deathklok) will be presumably standing, I'm betting that the Auditorium is not the main stage if it is used at all.

There are pictures on their website of shows both inside the expo hall and outside. Too bad the outside ones seem to be in an alley.
    http://www.shrineauditorium.com/gallery

EDIT- Even the Shrine's website specifically DOESN'T mention the Auditorium. Some events say Auditorium, some say Expo Hall, and F.S. says "Expo Hall & Grounds".
    http://www.shrineauditorium.com/events

Again, I've never been to either, so I don't know why the auditorium is considered so shitty. I am a little bummed there probably won't be any grass, but it's 8 hours, not 3 days.

I feel the same. this is great news. I wanted to wait last minute to grab a ticket. looks like that will be no problem now. Also, Was not thrilled about it being at the Sports Arena so this is good news!

What experience have you had at the sports arena and the surrounding area that you didn't like? I was waiting until after FYF to see how it was all handled originally. I like the way it looks to be set up so far.

Yeah, now that I've seen the FYF setup I'm more annoyed. I thought they were going to be using the arena for the main stage, which would have been awful. Looks like it might be a little hard to get around, but still nice compared to this.

Still, it's not the end of the world like some people are acting.
