Default Kaleidoscope Music Festival, Eugene OR Aug 23-24-25

So Eugene, Oregon (my current city of residence) is jumping into the festival market this year with a three day festival in late August. The bigger named acts seem to be electronic music which isn't my genre really, but I thought this might be of interest to the board.

    Phase 1 artists:

    Phase 2 artists:

Phase 3 artists and third headliner to be announced.

Their website needs a lot of work, I had to pull the phase 2 announcement from their Facebook page as you can't get it from the website yet.

Won't be attending as I moved across the country, but I have some friends who know the promoters for the event. They will almost certainly deliver with a high end sound system. The venue, Mt Pisgah, is going to be beautiful that time of year. Great views and right next to a river with some nice swimming spots. Parking will probably be a nightmare...

Here's an updated image with the final day lineups:

I live right in town so I'm tempted to go one of the days, if only to check out the new venue they've put together at Emerald Meadows. $63 for a day ticket is not bad.

It's a very EDM heavy lineup which I know little about.

For anyone still interested in this, ticket prices have been drastically slashed. With fees it's now a little over $100 for the 3 day pass, $200 for VIP 3 day pass, and like $45 for a day GA ticket. Possibly not a good sign for how well the festival has sold if they are trying to move a bunch of tickets at the last minute.

Late price slashing is never a good sign, but with this lineup it seems necessary. This gave me a chuckle from the FAQ:

Will tickets be sold at the event?

If the festival does not sell out in advance, tickets will be available at the box office. Keep in mind, however, that tickets sold on show dates will cost more. We strongly encourage you to purchase tickets in advance to not risk missing out. Also… do not buy tickets from scalpers, and beware of counterfeit tickets.

Are ticket prices going to increase from where they are now?

Yes. Prices will increase as allotted ticket quantities become sold out.
I'm wondering if the sound system will be worth a shit or if the entire thing is going to be a clusterfuck on the cheap.

Yeah I retract my earlier statements about a good sound system. I thought these guys were going to be working with the WTF crew (who had all funktion one's this year), but I was mistaken. This will be a shitshow

I think a festival like this in Eugene needs to appeal to the hippie demographic. Should have got some oldies bands in there. I might have went if rock has been better represented (there's like ... 5 indie rock bands and one or two reggea bands, and I'm including local bands in that count).

Something else I just noticed, there is no schedule posted yet. That's probably not a good sign either.

Nah, this festival doesn't need to have rock or oldies to cater to hippies, it's another burner-esque beats festival. The problem is mostly it's in such a close proximity to Burning Man.
