I've not heard any talk about DARKEL...is there a chance we'll get solo JB in a tent or something, in addition to the AIR set? Shit, we know he's going to be AT the festival...
I guess its possible that there's no touring act behind the record, solos often are that way...but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone had heard anything.
I really love The Virgin Suicides music that they did.
in 2004 they played right before the Lips and the Cure on the main stage at sundown.
I haven't heard Pocket Symphony, but I haven't seen anybody mention 10,000Hz Legend.... their best album, seriously, no, seriously

Air for iditots: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_%28band%29
Every Air album is awesome. Get on a bittorrent site and download a discography. Listen to the Mark Ronson mix of Alpha Beta Gaga (vocals by Rhymefest). Listen to La Femme d' Argent (my absolute favorite Air song ever. Listen to Playground Love from the Virgin Suicides score. Listen to Californie from Premiers Symptomes. Listen to Run from Talkie Walkie. And watch the music video for "How Does This Make You Feel", it's fucking weird.
I envy you, because discovering this band will shift your whole sphere of muscial awareness.. or at least it did for me.
"Yeah chicks go nuts for that... the male camel toe."
"Yea yea! The camel tail."
just listened to their new one the second time through and I'm loving it. it lends itself more towards moon safari then talkie walkie. more atmospheric. I also loved their 04 set as it seem most people do and was plesantly surprised by it, but the new album will work in more of a night setting, which they most likely will play.
Jarvis Cocker thread for details.
In addition to the albums I must highly recommend the import CD Singles for "Kelly Watch the Stars" and "All I Need" from Moon Safari. Seriously, if you like the band and do not have these then you must seek them out (or download the tracks if you have to). "Stars" has an absolutely killer mix of that song that is far superior to the album version. That single also has an incredible alternate and full orchestral (yet abbreviated) version of "Remember". "All I Need" has the Moog Cookbook remix of "Stars" which is also essential to any Air fan.
Air is some cool music. I got into them around a year ago.
my fave album is premiers symptomes, also saw them at the hollywood bowl.
i'll be going all 3 days but
i think after sunday, i'm going to have major coachella withdrawal
Grain- Yeah Coachella depression lasts a few months at least.
Air is in my top 3 Coachella performances ever... but I have always been a little suspicious that it was just the mushrooms speaking, so it's good to hear other people reaffirm this (but I don't discount the mushrooms roll in it).
Hunting has been part of our society since the first Europeans came over and shot buffalo and Native Americans and whatnot.
The Dive Poets
I heart moon. *tear*
wow....you seriosuly thik that is the only good frnech band out there!?
you must not know a lot of french bands.
for starters... Daft Punk. To continue... phoenix, (also played at coachella last year with DP) camille, emilie simon, dionysos and more....
manu chao was born in paris... and he is playing this year...if you havent heard anything by him ...i would suggest checking him out.
see kids, Lily Allen is proof, you can go from being a drug dealer in Ibiza, to a musical star, and eventually play at coachella
i would mind a dj set for air- better than on the main stage after rage...or how about after rage? its been done before with black star after NIN
who do you think air will be up against? just in terms of any terrible conflicts.
maybe kaiser chiefs or placebo or eits or ratatat any of those would be horrible
