    Men:

The weight around your stomach is the hardest to loose
Everybody always wants the ripped six pack but you gotta understand humans genetically aren't going to loose that weight easily
It's going to take a lot of dieting and proper exercise for you to get to loose that weight around the belly
No pill you take is magically goin to make it fall off
Your only alternative would possibly be to get lipo

    Got man boobs?
First off try and cut off drinking beer
Compared to other alcohols it is estrogenic in men
Switch to red wine or cut down drinking altogether

    Sometimes it's genetic
Check if you suffer from a condition called Gynecomastia
If you don't have that try to do

Grape seed extract(anti oxidant that will help rid your body of phytoestrogens)

I dont care about a six pack. I obviously dont want to be fat. BUT, I do want dem big arms and chest. Gotta eat big to get big.

    My workouts look like this:

    Workout A:
    Bench Press (5x5)
    Squats (5x5)
    Skull Crushers (5x5)
    Military Press (5x5)
    Dips (2x8)

    Workout B:
    Deadlift (5x5)
    Rows (5x5)
    Lat Raises (5x8)
Hammer Curls or barbell curls (5x5)
    Pull ups (2x8)

I will occasionally throw in random things, like pull downs, calves, tricep extensions, etc... when I'm feeling good.

    Where did Tom go?

Any hydrocarbon has a calorie count. The notion that aspartamine doesn't have calories is idiotic. The artificial sweeteners are taste bud active at such low concentrations, the intake of calories due to these sweeteners is negligible.

I wanted to explain to him how the regimented intake of aspartamine leads to the buildup of the amino acid phenylalinine. Phenylalanine is changed to tryptophan using a relatively slow acting enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase. This enzyme is homoanalgous to enzymes that convert tyrosine into dopamine and seratonin, meaning that if the phenyalanine concentration is high, the enzymes will be overtaxed trying to get rid of it, rather than being involved with the the final steps of seratonin and dopamine synthesis. Also, Phenylalanine uses the same active transport channel as tryptophan to cross the blood–brain barrier, and in high enough concentrations will interfere with the production of neurotransmitters because it basically causes a "traffic jam" in the active transport system. In summary, the biological process of the body are clogged with the relatively worthless amino acid phenylalanine, and are unable to efficiently produce the most important chemicals in our body, dopamine and seratonin. Dopamine and seratonin are the chemicals that regulate appetite, cravings and the feeling of satisfaction from a meal. Its really not hard to see why poor neurotransmitter levels can lead to problems like obesity where the victim insists that it is a psychological disease rather than a lack of willpower.

Drinking a diet soda once in a while has no negative effect on your biological system. Drinking diet soda as a regiment (3 times a day for a year or more) will cause a phenylalanine buildup that can lead to any number of health implications. There are very few official studies on this type of biology because it is impossible to have a controlled study that consists of a regimented intake of a drug over the course of many years. Anyhow, there you go.

Yay! I haven't checked in for a few days, but am glad to see Paul started a new thread and that everyone's still working on getting fit. Hopefully we all stick with it this time, instead of doing a mad rush a couple of months before Coachella

My update: I've met my goal weight (actually a bit under). Yesterday I upped my calories on MFP to about TDEE to see if I maintain.

Still working the Starting Strength program and seem to be progressing well, albeit slowly. I feel like a total weakling when I see the numbers some of the other girls are lifting, but I don't want to push too hard and end up with poor form or burning myself out. Here's yesterday's workout:

Errant Dont get discouraged by what others do

As long as you are making progress in the mirror and are happy with it you'll be fine

    It's not a competition it's a healthy lifestyle

Damn!! That is fast! I lost 50 pounds last year and it made me feel like a whole new person! That last 10 pounds is the hardest! And then it's the first that comes back. I'm back to trying to lose that 10 pounds again. But it comes off slower as you reach your ideal body weight.

I have been dedicated like crazy! I have been exercising 5-6 times a week and watching calorie intake. Its hard at times but my main goal right now is just not to give up. I gave up alcohol for May & June.. I think that has helped a lot.

It's mostly about your diet. Be careful what you eat and drink. It'll get ya.
