I totally wouldn't mind it.
The Knife - Beck - The Cult - Motorhead - QOTSA - Outkast - The Replacements - Bryan Ferry - Pet Shop Boys - Temples - Crosses - Washed Out - The Preatures - Little Dragon
They're a much better live band now than they were in he 90s.
Unfortunately people would be disappointed if it didn't say (original lineup) on the poster.
It's a shame really. I think they'd make for a fantastic sub headliner.
All for this, many far less worthy 90s acts have already graced the fields.
A set-list anchored around their top work off first four albums would be phenomenal - but latest album has some really interesting stuff on it as well.
The Replacements - Bryan Ferry - Outkast - The Knife - Dum Dum Girls - Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Broken Bells - Haim - Neko Case - Jagwar Ma - Goat - Waxahatchee
Queens Of The Stone Age - Pet Shop Boys - Chvrches - Mogwai - Warpaint - Washed Out - Future Islands - Ty Seagall - Darkside - Foxygen
Beck - Neutral Milk Hotel - Superchunk - Arcade Fire - Bombino - Daughter - Surfer Blood
There stuck in the place that they don't really accept non-headliner bookings and would be a weak headliner. Is there much point to a 50 minute SP show?
Then there's the issue of Corgan being near a microphone doing speaking rather than singing.
Mehhhh. I'd see em, but probably not for very long
that would be awesome
At first I thought no, then well maybe I would check them out as an "in between". Not sure if they'd get a head line or not. Sub-headline, sure why not?
If they were to play Coachella, I doubt they would accept the sub-headliner spot
at this point, fuck it. if they would take 3rd billing i'd actually be kind of excited to see them on the lineup.
11/21 - Pearl Jam - Viejas Arena
Ive seen the pumpkins 3 times since i was 13. I'd love to see them at coachella, but they would definitely sub. I know billy has a huge ego (d'arcy, james, jimmie....gone), but no way they could headline. Ill second on the "billy likes to ramble on" thing. Like seriously dude, if you want us to take you seriously stop kicking out every band mate you've ever had take off that fucking ridiculous dress. Back in 96' some one threw a shirt on stage and it covered his huge bald head, he stopped the song abruptly and told the audience, "If you see some one throwing something on stage, BEAT THEIR ASS!!!" crowd cheers(Instigating a riot much?) . James Iha jumped on his mic and said, "NO! DO NOT BEAT THEIR ASS!" the song thirty-three has never been the same...for me at least.
Smashing Pumpkins closing the Outdoor would be pretty neat. Top of the 3rd line would work for me.
