3 payments down, 4 more to go!!
Hey, I missed the advance sale so I'm hopefully going to be able to get a pass come 2014. I'm coming all the way from Scotland with one of my friends, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some more information on camping. I've been to a few festivals in the UK and as it was said above, british camping festivals are a complete free for all. Turn up and find the nearest wet, muddy spot and get on with it. Is it a little different here? If me and my friend were to buy a festival pass each, what would we need to buy for tent camping? one camping pass for one plot, or just two camping passes?
I hate the 20 questions but it's a long way from home and its my first holiday without parents, so planning is key. It is still a long way away but it would be good to also keep in contact with some people who will be going, even though I'm sure my Scottish accent will attract a few friends there. I plan on going for ten days for the first weekend, and will be trying to find accommodation somewhere good before and after the festival. I've heard palm springs is very nice, but I kind of want to go see more of Los Angeles during the time there too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Man... No hard-luck stories this year. Either do it, full blast, or don't even talk about it. Probably better you don't talk about it, even if you do it, or you're not doing it right anyway.
Full blast it is.
Although I don't want to pay £700 for flights (near enough $1400) then be turned away at the festival because I went full blast with no planning

Do you need to pay for a tent camping spot to be able to camp? If not, I'll be willing to contribute if anyone could put us up for the weekend in their spot
Thanks for the reply, it says on the site that they're all sold out right now. Do you know if there will be more on sale come 2014? I'll only be 20 come the festival, so I'm not old enough to rent a car in the US.
There should be car camping passes available once there is the regular on-sale, provided they haven't sold out of them.
If you can't get any camping passes, there is also a Motel 6 very close by, but I don't know if it's sold out already for either weekend. A friend I work with stays there every year and bikes from there to the venue.
Why are you being so nice to this guy? May as well just link him to a FAQ page.
Also, I'm indoors and not melting outside.
Also also, it helps that they are preparing early, as opposed to asking five days before this thing gets going. Sure there are some tips I will keep to myself, but for now, happy to dispense a little advice.
Stupid newbie question!
There are four in my group for weekend one and we only purchased one car camping pass. Should we go with two instead? We're all Coachella virgins and weren't sure how many to nab.
One big tent, on one camping spot, if you guys are comfortable with all staying in one tent. We had three on one spot this year, which was fine, but I think four is when it becomes a little too crowded, depending on you and your company. One or two people on a space will have a lot of room to breathe.
Crap. That was my fear.
I guess I'll be trying for a car camping pass in the general sale.
last layaway payment went thru. i'm in, muthafuckas! i'm in!! :O
