As another sign, tickets are now on Goldstar.

    Single-days $45, two-days $75...+ $7.50 fees.

This thing must be selling terribly. Awful awful idea, I bet a sizeable amount of people from the bay area would rather just go down to LA for FYF.
On the reverse, if I was in LA I would consider going to this if it was not the same weekend as FYF.
And screw em for poaching Modest Mouse.....

This would be a good lineup for a single day fest with tickets at half the price (#promocodes show that they understand this)

I hope it makes it for selfish reasons. I have lots of friends in SF so I've been looking here on this board at their music fest threads to go to one next year. Bottle Rock looks doomed (and difficult to get to/stay at), I never love the Treasure Island lineups. Outside Lands looks... like an overcrowded, disorganized shit show, frankly.*

For First City, I like their taste in music, it seems. I love Monterey. Based on Coachella, Goldenvoice put on a good festival and respect the attendees. So... I hope it makes it to next year. And I'm looking forward to reading reviews from people here that attend.

    * Outside Lands being run by Superfly. My introduction to Superfly here in NYC has been the last 2 years of 'Googamooga.' I'm not sure whether they're incompetent or really don't give a fuck but either way I'd never travel to one of their fests based on 'Googamooga.'

I did google before I wrote that, I swear! Superfly's website header says "Superfly Presents: Bonnaroo - Outside Lands - Great Googamooga -- www.superflypresents.com/

Even if they have nothing to do with OL operations I didn't get a positive view of OL from last years thread. I mean, personally for what I'm looking for in a fest. Overcrowded for example seems to be a pretty consistent mention, as does bad sound and not being able to see the acts - plus unlike say Bonarroo or Coachella or to go more extreme Glastonbury it doesn't seem to have much of a cultural/communal identity so.... And unlike Sasquatch it doesn't have that amazing location... I just don't see a lot of pros but many cons (for me).

I didn't mean to make this about Outside Lands, I'm sorry. I'm just rooting for this one to both be good and make it.

No worries, I've got a beach house in Monterey to stay at so ideally I'd be pleased if this was successful as well, I just think that the timing of the festival for its first year isn't doing it any favors.

I went on saturday only, i thought it was pretty horrible. The main stage was riddled with sound issues, and every act had to come on about 30 minutes later than planned and had abbreviated sets. At one point in the middle of beach house's set, the drummer had a minor meltdown and proceeded to smash his cymbals on the ground. The festival in general seemed very crammed together, it felt very claustrophobic. Crowd was also very very chatty and didnt seem to be there for the music at all. It was an absolute waste of money in my opinion, i will not be attending next year.

The spirit of Altamont lives on in every shitty, forced festival around California. Sometimes it's just not meant to be.
