Missed him at Coachella but will actually be seeing him tonight along with Wall of Death and The Black Angels. Really looking forward to it. Will send PM about the vinyl.

Missed him W1 but luckily caught him W2 and they rocked pretty hard. We really enjoyed it.

The spontaneous mosh pit was hilarious W1.

He does seem like an arrogant guy onstage but his music is great, so it's forgivable. Great set!

I was expecting better from him. I dropped in and was hoping to be pulled in to stick around for the whole set. I didn't. It was pretty underwhelming stuff.

Yeah I wish that coachella had turned up the volume in the gobi for w1, at least his set. It seemed a lot quieter that anything else we saw in that tent. I bet this show would be a lot better in a club setting with a decent speaker set up. Big thanks to to hophead!!!

I was one person from the front and I didn't notice any of that. Just a good, laid-back set (which I didn't expect). I am gonna see him open for Black Angels in a few weeks so I hope he amps it up a bit. I imagine he's more raw in a club setting.

Wall of death was far superior to HEK. I hope they're on your leg of the tour. Wall of Death and Black angels killed it, During HEK, I went take a piss, just to have something fun to do. Muddy sound, boring, repetitive sounds, nonexistent stage presence.
Wow, 12 step meetings at Coachella, who knew? SOBERCHELLA.COM

Caught HEK W2 and was pleasantly surprised. Maybe W1 was different, but non-existent stage presence? Seemed pretty sure of himself and was pretty involved when I watched in W2. /shrug

Whatever you saw at chella, he doesn't have it on this tour. Maybe he's uncomfortable in the south. Totally flat on stage.

I am more excited to see Hanni El Khatib than I am for Black Angels.

I hope they step it up for you all, but it was an awful start of the tour for them. Black Angels were super tight as usual, only disappointment was the sitar player is not on the tour with them, so no enchanting sitar solo stuff. FML.

That's like my buck eighty five on HEK, so I'm out. Enjoy the shows.

We just missed Walls of Death on Friday night, but HEK wasn't bad. He started a little slow but by the end of the set was rocking pretty well. I was pleased for an opener that I didn't know anything about. We met him after the show and he seemed like a decent enough guy. He was very thankful for us coming out and picking up a record. The record is pretty sweet. I'm wishing I had picked up one for myself. His merch guy Matty was super friendly. Said that Coachella was 'the time of his life.'

Black Angels were outstanding. Hope I get the chance to see those guys again real soon.
