Default How Many Empty Bottle for a FREE Coachella Ticket?

So I heard some lady on Sunday say that you only need to collect 500 empty bottles for a free Coachella ticket to next years festival. Is this actually the case? and if so i may have to show up early next year and devote 2 hours each day to collecting bottles. For reals.

They were doing some kind of recycling program in addition to the 10-for-1 exchange. I talked to a girl at the recycling booth about it (I think on Sunday, so it was practically too late) but the more bottles and cans you recycled, the more stuff you got. I know they had t-shirts and other items you could earn. There were some other bigger things, but I don't remember hearing about Coachella passes.

Upgrade to VIP was 1,500 bottles.

125 was a $10 food voucher. Similar amount for a 2013 lineup poster. Also had Ferris Wheel tickets, shirts, mugs...

It depends on what kind of bottles. Assume that a Coachella ticket will set you back about $400 after fees, here's the rates for California:

CRV refund price per pound — effective date Jan. 1st 2013
    Aluminum Cans - $1.59
    Glass Bottles - $0.106
    #1 PETE Plastic Bottles - $1.07
    #2 HDPE Plastic Bottles - $0.60
    #3 PVC Plastic Bottles - $1.33
    #4 LDPE Plastic Bottles -$2.06
    #5 PP Plastic Bottles - $0.38
    #6 PS Plastic Bottles - $5.69
    #7 Others Plastic Bottles - $0.32
    Bimetal - $0.32

    Get recycling!

I had stopped doing the recycling since 2010 because it became too much of a pain to wait in line for a warm bottle of water, but these kinds of incentives might get me picking up the litter again.

It was 500 for a t-shirt and an entrance into a drawing to win VIP for 2014.

The other things you could get was 10 for a water (super fucking cold too, best water I drank all weekend), 75 for Ferris Wheel ticket (which were 8 bucks instead of 5 this year, so kind of a good deal), 150 for a t-shirt (may have been 300), and 1,600 for an instant upgrade to VIP for that weekend.

It sounds like a ripoff but I collected 357 in less than thirty minutes just by going to different camps and offering to clean up all their bottles and cans. One camp had a trash bag full of mostly bottles, so I said I'd filter it for them and took it back to my camp to sort it out.

My girlfriend and I were able to get two water bottles for 150 each, got two water bottles ice cold, and gave the rest of our amount away.

Super cool program, and the people running it were extremely appreciative that we brought in so many. I was really surprised at how genuine and heartfelt their thanks were.

Pretty sure all those prices are per pound.

Next year go to the one where the T-Rex is. I never saw a line there and the bottles were so cold. I can't get over how good that water tasted.
