hang the dj: so you would rather hear zach de la roca attempting (and failing miserably) to address political issues, sounding like a dumb ass, and really only doing it for the money? or how bout RHCP's incredibly lame, cliched lyrics about how much they love california (i swear he mentions it in EVERY song ive ever heard of theirs)

and its not just the headliners who suck. 90% of the list reserves that right. at least they have better dance acts this year (!!!, LCD), but still not worth it. those of you going, see Grizzly Bear and Explosions in the Sky on sunday and it will make it all better.

ok, honestly i do appreciate your trying to convince me (im being serious, not an asshole) but i dont think it is going to happen. for the sake of this i will put a list of bands going that i do enjoy, but still dont make it worth my drive and 800 dollars the trip costed me last year in total.

Are you seriously familiar with all of the acts playing? I'm not one to tell you to go away or shut up, but if you post a thread about hating the lineup, I don't understand what you're wanting from the rest of the people who disagree with you. You've already said you don't care who anybody else mentions, so it's not like you're looking for someone to convince you of a certain band's merit. So...what is it that you want?

Starting a thread is, at least the way I understand it, a way to open up a discussion about something. You obviously don't want to discuss the lineup or try to hear other people's opinion about why they do like the lineup. So...really, what do you want out this thread?

Adam, wait until the coachella sampler, or as Yablo suggested (in a passive aggressive, roundabout way) try listening to a few other bands. Sparklehorse, Jarvis Cocker, Air, The Frames (just download Santa Maria or Dream Awake by them), look I could save time by listing the acts (on Saturday especially) that I'm NOT pumped to see (even if I've already seen them). I've caught about 12 Explosions in the Sky concerts, but barring conflict, I'll be there for #13. I just don't get people around here sometimes. Buy your tickets, go, try some new things, fall in love with a random act or two, or stay home. It's that simple dude. I agree that you have a right to vent, but you've kinda lost point of your original point. Personally, this is my favorite lineup (including 2004---ooh, blasphemy). Just a solid lineup all around. Not the strongest electronica lineup (at least, not that I'm aware of), but then again, I'm pretty much out of my electronica phase so that doesn't bother me as much.

I won't say this is a bad line-up but there are at least 3 Coachellas that have been better - way better.

i know i'm going to have a hard time seeing all the bands i want due to overlap.

meh, some people will never be happy unless the bill is stacked 100% with only bands they like.
