Well it's the Coachella Music and Drug festival isn't it? People do not know how to get high these days they just know how to get stupider than they start out.

Or how about everyone at one time is guilty of being an ass some way or another at a concert and dealing with these blissful dumbies is kinda of paying your dues. And everyone is different to what makes one an ass at a concert. Some people think youre an asshole for simply walking closer/infront of them towards the stage than they were since they got there before you.

No apology needed. That was the most obnoxious crowd all weekend. It didn't help that Major Lazer was encouraging the ruffians...

The more I think of this yes there are certain situations that I could be on board with that you cannot avoid or should confronted or is very rude or should be very angry about .Yet I still find it ignorant to be around thousands of people and to expect everyone to act accordingly your or a small group collaborate idea of how one should act like..On top of that this its not even really bad compare to that kid who was running around fingering his asshole and placing his shitty hand on people faces he was an arm reach away from til security tackle him in 2011.

You're completely wrong, though. It's not an issue of "well at other festivals people are even worse behaved, so we should be thankful that we don't have to deal with that," nor is it an issue of "hey, what do you expect with so many people?" Complacency only breeds more asshattery.

And honestly, the "it's worse elsewhere" line of argument is the absolute most laziest kind of critical position possible. Hey! Why attempt to fix any problem ever, if in places far removed and connected only by a few vague similarities there are even worse problems?

I'm with ya on this. Crowd never bother me unless I can't get out of a tent or crowd. Ozzfest was the worst, but a lot of fun.

first of all if someone is doing something to your woman more than once and she feels uncomfortable, either move or tell the dude to quit it if it's something really messed up

but anyways major lazer was fucking ridiculously packed with the douchiest people imaginable... somehow got lucky enough to be surrounded by mostly normal folks though

Sure, but you're also numb to the fact that sometimes you are a moderate disrupting concert goer. And to encourage that sort of "blissful ignorance" is to be complicit in the problem at large, which is that people are self-centered assholes and oblivious to creating a shared communal experience based upon respect for people around them.

That doesn't make any sense. At some level, sure, everyone's a self-centered asshole interested in themselves and their own experience. But also, there's a reason that public shaming is a tactic used by almost every human social group -- because it works. People, excepting an extremely small margin of sociopaths, don't want to be regarded as disruptive assholes, because they want the respect and acceptance of their social group. This is absolutely why, when at a concert, if you tell someone that they are being a disruptive asshole, they stop: both because they probably take 2 seconds to actually think outside of themselves, but even more so because it's a bit embarrassing to be publicly called out.

And of course, when at a concert or in a large crowd, you can't control exactly the type of people that will be surrounding you, and there are always going to be instances of small annoyances that don't even register high enough on a scale of disruption to bother with. But if someone is, for example, JUMPING UP AND DOWN AND REPEATEDLY HITTING YOU IN THE FACE WITH THEIR BACKPACK, yeah, that needs to be addressed for the benefit of everyone in that general area. This is how people learn to be better concert goers. Get as fucked up as you want, bro. Jump around! But maybe, not in the middle of a packed area where you are actually, unbeknownst to your own drug addled brain, significantly effecting the experience of those around you.

Sounds a lot like you were in a crowd at a festival. I'm glad you were able to let off steam on these boards, you sound psychologically fragile.

Stay near the back next time.

(also, I like people who face away from the stage for dj sets. it indicates a valuation of the music + friends over the fame of the dj)

I'm actually not as fragile as this thread would suggest. I'm mostly embarrassed that I got so worked up that I came within an inch of putting this guy in the hospital with my bear hands. This dude was a fuck face, and should have been confronted, just not the way I did it.

Also, I'm 5 foot 11. Why the mechanics of someone who is 2-3 inches taller than me jumping up and hitting me in the back of my head escapes some people is beyond me.

Also, I was in the back 2/3 of the tent for that very reason. I found a nice space to dance in comfort, then he and his buddies came up about halfway through the set and parked right behind us.

Don't defend yourself like a bitch, you pussy. You don't have to make excuses.

This other bullshit is what's wrong with the world--people don't get punched in the head enough. Where I grew up, if you acted like a douchebag somebody was almost certain to punch you in the fucking head. Sometimes even if you didn't really do ANYTHING you'd get punched in the fucking head. It kept people cognizant of the fact that their behavior could have consequences.

This new generation of hippie bullshit and California permissiveness is ruining society. Fuck them.

My best friend had to choke this german dude out because he was going apeshit on us from behind at a Rage Against the Machine show. He grabbed him by the throat and told him to "CHILL THE FUCK OUT..."

At this Coachella I took my gf and this bitch with a backpack was with her back turned to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and kept slamming into me. I turned around a few times and her gf apologized... then she kept at it so I dumped my bottle of water on her head
