How did the dust compare to Bonnaro or FYF, for those that have been?
i've never seen dust like that at bonnaroo. it was dusty in 2011, but sunday night of weekend 1 was a whole other montser. it only bothered me walking back to the condo on saturday night. got some little guys in my eye.
All dolled up? Suffacated, I thought you said you had to work for a few hours? For the record; I only went home once on Friday morning to feed the cats. That "10-minute trip" cost me at least 2 sets that I wanted to see, so I toughed it out the rest of the weekend... By the time Monday blew in, my poopy was about the only thing that wasn't covered in sand! LOL
Truthfully, I had driven out to the polo fields about a week before the fest and the grass was still in good shape. I was somewhat surprised at how dry it was, especially where we were camped on 117th. That's like center stage for the main polo matches played just a week prior to the fest. And, while the idea of gravel along the "Pink" path sounds good, it wouldn't be practical or acceptable, come polo season... That's where they park their polo ensemble and tie up their ponies. Polo ponies are not rock friendly and I'd be surprised to actually find any rocks near that grass. They probably should have run the water trucks like previous years. I think I only saw them hose shit down once the whole weekend... and it wasn't just prior to the blowjob on Sunday, that's for sure.
damn global warming
I actually thought last years Sunday W2 was worst then this years Sunday W2, it did seem to get dustier quicker but it never really bothered me. I had my bandana though
lol the grass was horrible..let's look at the real problem. early friday afternoon my gf and i left c2c's set from the right side of the sahara and shit was brown and dusty to begin with. there were plenty of other areas that had dead grass on friday too....i can only imagine stagecoach lol
And that was actually at the better end of the place. Those same pictures of anything down by the Mojave or Sahara W2 Saturday or Sunday would have been ALL brown. The table top area with the Yuma was just decimated.
Thats what happens when you shut the sprinklers off for a few weeks.
Hilarious that the corner by the fence in the last photo is green because people pissed there for 2 weeks straight. AND PEOPLE ARE LYING IN IT
The first thing I thought when I saw the people sitting and lying there!
anyone else get sick coming back home from coachella? i did, and im guessing it was due to all the dust i inhaled. My friends got sick as well on the way back.

Hell or highwater, fire and brimstone, not even cancer is powerful enough to keep me from Coachella!
One amazing upgrade they made was paving the access road that runs along the backstage perimeter.
Man, that artist parking lot and VIP parking lot were horrible, though. Drove some people out around 4am Sunday morning and I could barely drive with my eyes open, that is a lot of the dust that ends up making its way across the road and into the venue. Thought the golf cart was going to get stuck a couple times. One of the bands and some of their entourage were partying next to their bus back there and our carts completely doused them in dust as we rode by. Whoops.

i literally only saw dust in lobby and camping. there was like a giant force field keeping it from the polo grounds proper. but as soona s you got to the ferris wheel, the bandana went up.
The intense wind storm was partly to blame for this. But it is true that the grass seemed to be in not the best of shape, and seriously the paths are just hideous. There has to be a better way than to funnel all these people stomping through fine dust, as they tromp into the maze. and no water trucks! Actually only saw one, by that time it was way too late.
But memories of that windstorm will always remind me of some Apocalypse movie. everyone bundled up, face masks and bandannas, people wearing their sunglasses at night, everyone's faces covered, running for cover, coughing, and wheezing in the wind driven night haze...yep that was my walk back to the shuttles.. I never was so happy to get on that bus!
Well, I saw people pissing there. So, maybe they dumped drinks there as well, but urine hit that grass.
