Weekend two got the short end of the stick for sure
Nice. Now I don't actually have to attend the festival.
I can pick up my friend at the airport in Houston, catch Wild Nothing AND Local Natives at the local House of Blues, and then drive the next day to Austin
Wilco's playing a show at Stubbs on October 11th. Tickets go on sale the 23rd of August.
What time do headlining acts go on at Stubbs Outdoors usually? All it says is Doors at 8pm. I'd like to see a bit of The Cure before heading over.
Anyone know the code for the Franz Ferdinand aftershows? C3 never emailed it to me.
Edit: Never mind. It's AMYS.

Got my ticket for the National's aftershow at Stubb's. Cannot wait.
Round trip ticket for $191? I'll take it!! Thankfully, i'm a little flexible with my dates, since that will save me over $100 on the flight and I get an extra couple days to live it up in Austin while I decompress. I'd rather spend the extra money on a hotel room and have more fun than give it to the airline anyways.
any must do activities or must see places while I'm there? originally this was just going to be the festival and some late night fun off 6th street, but now I can be a little bit more of a tourist in addition to that. my boyfriend wants to see the bats, anything else we should consider?
I'm not going to the fest, but we should meet up for a beer Jorge!
Which weekend are you going, Jorge?
Weekend 2 and i'm definitely in for beers Gribbz. My buddy that i'm staying with lives in SA, so flying in on Thursday and staying there that night. Driving back to his place after the fest Sunday to catch a flight home on Monday morning. He and has to work a half day Friday so we're not getting to the fest until about 3 or 4pm on the first day. Not doing any night shows, but will definitely be partying at whatever bars are packed with drunken homos on Friday and Saturday night.
What are the different Austin neighborhoods one has to look at on airbnb to be close to the fest?
the place I booked was near 4th and Oak and was $200 for a 2b/2b (also weekend 2). it's sort of in between the fest and the 6th street night life.
I didn't realize you were going weekend 2, count me in for beers too
Queens of the Stone Age are doing an ACL show Oct 3.
not sure if it's been posted yet, but I guess wristband registration is mandatory. the wording of this page seems to imply that this is something new for this year.
I just registered mine. This year, we’re making sure your wristband remains yours all weekend. Equipped with RFID technology, each wristband will be personalized to YOU! But only after you take the mandatory step of registering your wristband below.
Taking this simple action will secure your investment and make sure the unique ID associated with your wristband is tied to the right person. In the event you encounter any issues as you enter or exit the festival grounds, registered passholders will receive quicker assistance.
Want the full experience? We’ll have Check In Locations located throughout Zilker Park for those who Connect With Facebook to share their festival experience AND be entered to win special giveaways and ticket upgrades all weekend long!
