QOTSA are subbing on the main stage behind NIN at Lolla so I'd be surprised to not see them on the main before the headliner at ACL.

can anyone explain, how does it look after the fest? are there any after shows at clubs, like there are at Lolla?
does the fest end at 10pm?
if there are aftershows, are they usually at the clubs on the 6th or?
    many thanks for any help

Atoms for Peace are playing in Nashville, TN on Oct 3. What days does this make them most likely for?

Several aftershows after the fest all 3 nights. They will probably be announced late summer, and tix will sell out super duper fast.

That's really not enough to guess what day they would play. They could easily make it to Austin the next day for day 1, so who knows.

They are all over town. Usually between 5th Street and 8th Street. Also It will be more than just the nights of the festival. Usually the aftershows start the Wednesday before but with the festival being two weekends this year it's hard to say if they will or if they won't hold them all week in between fests.

Do the aftershows usually consist of lower tiered bands? How realistic is the National playing one of said shows?

    Woods - 8/20 - Holy Mountain
    Jamie xx - 8/27 - The Mohawk

sometimes its bands that played, mostly its not. some times its bands that just happen to be in the area.
i'd say its a 0.15% possibility, just from asking my magic balloon knot.

    no problem.
a lot of people tend to like FFFF better than ACL. which sucks as far as ticket buying, since ACL has been on sale forever and FFFF keeps just leaking artists (none of which have me that excited yet) but we2 ACL is still available.
im pissed i missed tomahawk last year. miss those guys.

If the previous years are any indication, we should probably be getting the schedule within the next two weeks. With Vampire Weekend and the Arctic Monkeys both confirmed for Friday its seems pretty likely that their sets will conflict, right? If so, that'll fuckin blow.

Found the schedule. It says '2013 Schedule Test', but I'm pretty sure we can assume this is final. Anyway there's quite a few conflicts, for me at least.

some of those listed times seem to be placed in brackets for the following hour. for example, I'm guessing that Atoms for Peace is actually an 8:40 start time rather than the listed 7:40 based on their placement on the schedule and the fact that I find it silly to give them a 2 hour set.

if I go by listed times, those are some tough conflicts, but if we go by placement they aren't bad at all.

edit, never mind, I had glare on my laptop screen and didn't see the shaded areas, that explains the placement being off.

Do people really still complain about conflicts at music festivals? It's inevitable, and there's no way around it. With a lineup this stacked, you're going to have to miss some great acts. Either dish out the money for both weekends or quit complaining

well duh, but what else are we supposed to do between now and the festival?

Thankfully, I've seen 1 or both of my major conflicts in the last 18 months so that makes my decisions much easier. I'll probably catch fun. instead of Local Natives since I saw both Local Native shows at coachella. I'll catch Foxygen since I have already seen MS MR but Haim and Walk the Moon will be a tough one, even though both acts are so overplayed on sirius (maybe I"ll sleep in )

really, the only somewhat painful one is DM/Muse. I've seen DM 6 times and Muse 4 times but I don't care for the latest muse album so I think I'll watch DM up until the encore break and then slide over to catch the end of muse since that's when the better part of their catalog will be played.

I think this is what I'll do since I just saw both weekends of Portugal at coachella and saw SSPU a half dozen times in the last year or 2. thanks
