Default Is Car Camping Really That Bad?

Coachella vet since 1999 and this will be my first time camping, is car camping really that bad? Are people really that loud they don't care if you sleep or not? I've heard some really bad reviews. I always pass the camp grounds as I enter and say to myself "this looks like it would be fun" but should i take this unpredictable plunge?

Its like the Infinite Monkey Theorem, if you put X amount of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and ask them to give you Shakespeare 99% of them will fling their shit at you while the other 1% will masturbate in the corner.

It really doesn't suck at all. I've stayed at hotels in previous years, and I've camped. Since I started camping, I've never gone back to staying in a hotel. It really enhances the experience & as long as you're not a puss about staying up late & not sleeping in a bed - then you won't have a problem. It's always a lot of fun!

Somehow I don't believe you're a Coachella vet if you've never even experienced any of the camp grounds.

You should always car camp. Good neighbors outnumber the bad, so the odds are in your favor. Either way, bring ear plugs. You'll be fine.

You should protest car camping. Cars have no place out of the parking lot. Car camping weekend 2

I love car camping, I had the option of going in on a room at a resort with my sister and her group. As nice as hot showers and sleeping in a bed seems every year, it also means having to walk forever to find your car, waiting in lines to get out of the parking lot for hours and then getting detoured all over the city before you can actually get back to your hotel. Once the music ends I just walk back to my tent, smoke, have a couple more beers with friends, take a xanax or valium and I am asleep before most people have even found their car.

This is my 10th year, never stepped foot in the campgrounds, although I do stay onsite. I feel like a vet.

This. Our neighbors last year stayed awake and chatty well into the morning each day, and the first night I had a real good sleep on the campgrounds was when I started wearing cheap foam earplugs to bed. Worked like a charm.

I love camping. The first few years I stayed in a hotel or with my sister, who lived local. Way too much work trying to get in and out. I've been camping the last 4 years and it's so much more fun

I think it depends on you. If you can handle camping you can handle it. So often I see groups of people who have no idea how to prep/pack for camping and are miserable. If you plan right, its pretty nice actually to be there the whole time, and not fuss with busses, and the other bs.. Just make sure to bring a ood place to sleep and bring some earplugs and it will be great.
