It's not dead but it has in fact sucked commercial shitty pop balls for years... that's why people say it's dead. Same with punk. So at least they booked Richie Hawtin - most certainly NOT a trance DJ, nor a commercial sell-out as far as I know....seems as if he'll be on early in the Sahara tent as he's listed pretty far down the poster on Sunday - worth checking out if you want some dance music that's not commercial trance.

Though there's always a chance he might do a minimal techno set that's hard to dance to, I have a feeling at a festival like Coachella he'll do one of his brilliant sets, like only he can throw down - he can really take you there like no one else.(except maybe Jeff Mills)

Yeah, Hawtin is great. I'm sure he'll play a hard set. I can't recall seeing him at a big festival type event and him not playing hard. Usually he saves the minimal stuff for the clubs - and even then it's been a few years since I've heard him play a minimal set.
