Seriously, can we get any kind of addressing of grievances from GV re: this? At least an acknowledgement or explanation and what they plan to do for next year?
I will not return to this Music and Arts Festival again. This was a travesty and shouldn't go without punishment. I paid for two passes with car camping and have no problem calling this business daily to demand a refund. I think we should unite and ask for retribution.
I've never camped, every year I think "hmm maybe next year I'll camp", then I get to reading these threads and I remember how nice it is to get back to the condo with your group of friends after a long hard day.
even with the shitty lot 4 situation, i'd still camp there over a hotel again. granted, lot 8 and 10 are worlds apart, but even the shittiest camping is better than dealing with driving in and out and the horrible double search/groping.
until this year, I'd never really been groped that much either, but coming through day parking/shuttles during weekend 2 my boobs were felt up pretty good. they would grab the string from my bikini and shake it and then feel under my boobs and between by boobs and then give the rest of me a fairly thorough patdown. not to mention they went into every single pocket in my purse/bag and even asked me to open up my wallet for them to look inside. I don't know if it was just a weekend 2 thing because of Boston or if it was the same way during weekend 1, but it definitely wasn't fun. and then we'd get to the main entrance and get searched all over again, albeit not nearly as thorough.
^^ wknd 1 I was violated in front of my wife and 2yr old
I was patted on my junk and had my ass cupped jailhouse style
So no it wasn't a Boston thing
...I don't have boobs either Amy

That's exactly how it was last year and damn near ruined my weekend! Took me three hours just to get in on Sunday of 2012! Having my boobs and ass grabbed and feeling like I'm checking into prison was not fun. That's why we splurged with VIP this year and it was wonderful! I will never go GA again. If I liked to camp that would be my other option, but I don't.
10/8 - Little Dragon @ Marquee (Tempe, AZ)

has anyone else written a letter to goldenvoice? i have one typed up and i'll probably be sending it off tomorrow. god only knows who if anyone will read it, but i just had to speak up about how completely terrible Lot 4 was (among other related problems).
My group was in lot 4 - worst camping experience we've ever had. Only year that came close was maybe 2008 or 2009 when they decided to have all showers in 1 central location (including sinks), making it very hard to either take a shower or use a sink. I'm going to email Coachella a list of camping critiques, here they are:
-No showers or sinks in lot 4
-not enough port o potties, and the one's we had were always filthy it seemed
-thorns everywhere - you basically had to have shoes on at all times to avoid them
-one of the people in our group got bit by a swarm of ants, and her feet swelled up badly
-felt like we really weren't even at Coachella when we were in the campsite, no amenities around
-long 20 minute walk to the festival, that led us by zero amenities except for buying water/powerade
Lastly, I took a pic walking back the campsite after - there were just plumes of dust everywhere. Felt like you were walking back into hell. Hope no one ever again has to camp in lot 4.
Coachella 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.2, 13.2, 14.2, 15.2
Outside Lands 10, 11, 13, 14
email@example.com, and also using the contact form on golden voice's main website. I've had 0 response. I plan to resubmit the letter in a few days.
I also took pictures of the fucking 2000 person lines to get into the festival on Friday morning and the 12 security gates or whatever it was that were closed because they were "short staffed" per a manager.
Can anyone post photos of the lot itself? Just curious
honestly, there wasn't much to take photos of. the lot itself looked green enough at first glance, it wasn't until you took off your shoes and took a couple steps and discovered the hidden gems of lot 4 (thorns). it's also hard to take photos of a lack of bathrooms and nonexistent showers, and honestly, I didn't want to take a photo of the bathroom attendant that passed out a few pieces of toilet paper on your way in to the porta poties and then doused you with a squirt from a single bag of hand sanitizer on your way out.
