Sheesh, was anyone else super tired of hearing her complain about her early set time W2? Must have been 5 comments about how weird it was, "We're playing night music during the day!!! How strange!!" Probably trying to explain why there was such weak attendance at her performance. You know what Neko? Pharrell could have played at 2pm and would have packed them in. Stop complaining and just play for the people who came to see you.

Neko lost the people just there to see HAIM, the previous band on that stage.

I still love her music and I thought she put on a good show.

I thought it was a fantastic set and the cloudy weather was absolutely perfect. But yes, she couldn't have stressed her dislike for playing night music in the daytime and letting the "weird/strange wash all over you", or something to that effect, much more than she did. She must have said different variations of that phrase at least 3 times. I did somewhat sympathize with her considering how small the crowd was and the high amount of people that bolted after HAIM finished their set. It was still in my top 10 of the weekend regardless of how many people stayed to watch her play or the number of times she addressed the obvious fact that it was in fact the daytime.

I thought she was funny. She is right about not playing in a dark setting. I also really liked the other woman singer with her.

She was pretty hilarious. I also dug those skeleton sweats she was wearing. She would have benefitted from playing one slot later, but the show must go on and she still brought it. Great musicianship by her band too.

what was broadcast on the AXS stream of her set sounded fantastic. I need to look in to her, I saw her only for a song or two at Sasquatch 2006, but then she got hailed on and had to stop the show.

Yeah that woman had some serious pipes. Complemented Nelo perfectly. Neko is so damn lovely and pro. It's musicians like her that keep my faith restored in modern music.

Do it! She has an almost faultless catalog which, imo, gets better with each release.

I thought she was great! Sometimes people just don't bother to research and find out who these people are! Sick of the people only there to see acts play the recent radio hits. Some respect is due to great performers!

holy shit that was Kelly Hogan? I had no idea. damn. she looked a lot older than she used to.

Kelly Hogan & the Pine Valley Cosmonauts, Beneath the Country Underdog is a fine album. Produced by Jon Langford of the Mekons and the Waco Brothers.

Honestly, I found the comments to be funny, if a bit repetitive. It did not take away from the set in the slightest.

I made a special point of seeing Neko because she KILLED when I saw her open for The National at Hollywood Bowl a few summers ago. (Sharon Van Etten also opened, and she kicked ass too!)

However, I was very disappointed with her performance at W1 -- not as energetic, too much of that other chick, songs weren't as interesting. I think she's right -- her music IS night music (whatever that means) and it's better after dark.
