Tool @ The Pearl vs. Coachella Friday

OK, here's the story...

My friend bought a 3-day pass for Coachella and tickets for Tool MONTHS ago. Then Danny Carey had to go and mess up his bicep and reschedule the Tool show for Friday the 27th. Now he is stuck with tickets for Tool and Coachella on the same day. I told him that he should NOT go to Tool and catch all weekend with us at Coachella, but he is leaning toward going to Tool, missing Friday's Coachella, and then driving out after Tool to hang for the rest of the weekend.

I think he is missing some GREAT performances Friday @ Coachella AND he has seen Tool three times already in the last year.

What do you guys think? Maybe this poll will help to sway my friend...

Or maybe it will just cause drama between the Tool Army posters on this board and the Bjork fans...

Same shit happened to me, then I got the email from The Palms as well as Ticketmaster and I immediately canceled my room and got a refund for the tickets, Tool at that new Pearl venue sounded great but not over Faithless, JAMC, Jarvis,Interpol,Bjork, and Sonic Youth on the same day, no fucking way.

had the same predicament myself, however i never bought tool tickets so that made my decision easier. other than peeping tom, theres really noone i care to see too much on friday, so id rather see tool.

heres the thing, the fact that he has seen them 3 times, in the same year no less, should make that decision easy, Coachella baby! he'll get other chances to see tool, friday has a great line-up

As much as I love tool, he should go to coachella, if he's seen them three times I doubt they're gonna play that different a show to merit going. I myself saw them four times in the last year and was kind of disappointed that they pretty much played the same set at all four shows, despite their reputation for mixing things up in the past.

Where is he sitting and he should know better than to go to vegas and then have to go back to cali to go to the rest of coachella. It would kind of be a waste of money. He runs the risk of losing all his dough in Vegas over a Tool show or 3 days of awesomeness. Coachella it is, and f**k the Tool army. He can sell his ticket and get his $100 back.

If he had never seen Tool, then I would be tempted to say Tool.
But since he has seen them 3 times, definately Coachella.
Friday has some really interesting/rare/cool acts playing.

1. Jarvis Cocker wasn't playing Coachella
2. I had never seen Tool.
3. it was a tour other than the 10,000 Days tour, because that album is mediocre
14. I had killer seats

Ticketmaster presented me with the option and I just advised them to credit my card back, I don't have the time nor the heart to rip people off for concert tickets. This way they could have released my seats to a lucky TOOL fan that missed out on the regular sale.

Last year during Radiohead California tour I found myself with 2 extra Radiohead tickets for the San Diego show. Rather then sell the tickets at a inflated price I sold them for exactly what I bought them for. I think if you are a fan of a particular band you should do them same. Not everyone can afford to go shows, much less pay this effing inflated scalping prices. I love ebay but it has become a breeding crowd for this time of crap.

You are wrong sir. I for one am an avid "lucky TOOL fan" and I got two tickets for both nights.

Then they rescheduled for the weekend of Coachella so I sold them to another "lucky TOOL fan" at the price I paid.
