Blonde Redhead was one of the first bands I got really excited for. They should be great, but I hope they don't fail a conflict.

i tend to agree.....I've read and enjoyed Pitchfork for quite a while now, but its getting to the point where I can predict how they're going to review an album before I read a single word.....

I still read it though, even though its gotten seriously inundated with nonsensical hip hop reviews........and do I really need to read about Beyonce & Ciara tracks on Pitchfork???

Yes, I rather strongly disagreed with the gist of that Blonde Redhead review. I much prefer the direction that Blonde Redhead's sound has taken to their older, somewhat starker productions.

Actually, I think I've understated just how bad that review was. Most of it reminded me of Will Ferrell in Elf talking about how he passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops...

I quoth the review:

Innovative? Sure, but when all the day-glo splatters, candy-coated swooshes, and chocolate waterfalls obscure the individualized songs underneath, what's the point?

I mean, what the hell is that?
