It is a live band but he controls all of the sounds from the live band from his board instead of letting the sound board do it plus all of his rigs that he uses to do his live stuff. Sounds amazing.

It was crazy hearing him talk last night, he's like an evil genius. I didn't realize that for his new album he hired studio musicians to create all these musical sounds he likes on many different vinyl albums and then he sampled his own vinyls he created to put together the album. It's insane the amount of work he puts into everything.

He was talking about how for the light show he spent several months just photographing and filming sunsets, nature, walls, etc. to piece it together for his visual show that he synchronizes with his sounds.

And he created this inverted disco ball with all of these lights inside of it that hangs over him and is 800 pounds to create this strange sun effect.

It was fascinating hearing how he works.

Pretty Lights will be bringing a live band... and re-mixing them live!? Wtf? I saw him at Squamish Music Fest a few months and he really impressed me, but it was just him up there. Is this live band thing new?

Anyone watch Deltron on Letterman last night? Holy. Shit. Their new album is a disappointment for the most part... but wow does this ever sound fantastic.

Tricky, Delorean, and Rudimental all, officially, off the bill as per MO facebook page. They said they are working on replacements for all 3 acts.

Worth the watch if you're even slightly interested in seeing him

There's still plenty on the line up to love, cancellations are part of life with festivals, I just roll with it.

People were giving them static about the cancellations and Ashley Capps posted the reason, I had no idea about the DeLoreon kidnapping!

And some people are complaining some of the music is too experimental! What losers!

First add, Adventure Club, they're okay...

We can book artists that we love, but sadly we can't control everything. We don't issue visas, we can't control illness, or flight cancelations, or the other decisions that artists may need to make for whatever reason. Tricky couldn't get a visa to enter the country. He had to cancel all of his shows. DeLorean underwent a kidnapping ordeal that obviously left them rattled. Rudimental had to make a career decision. We have to roll with it. What we can do is try to find other great artists to fill the voids. Which is what we are doing. One is already filled and will be announced this afternoon. Other ideas are being explored and discussed. Please be patient and let's see what we can do here. Thanks!

So now they added Cashmere Cat, who I have never heard of.

So that makes Adventure Club and Cashmere Cat added.

    1 more to go.

Really? You think so? There are some really great songs on the new album, but some of them fall flat and others of them are straight up bad (See: "Del-tron. Is. Our. He-ro. If. He. Can't. Do. It. No-body. Can!"), where as their first album is solid gold beginning to end. The skits are also an essential part about what makes the first album great, whereas the skits on this album are painful and hard to get through. I dunno. Its not bad, per se... but after such an incredible debut and such a long time between it and the sophmore, I can't help but be disappointed.

Also, someone explain this map to me. Specifically the top left corner map. Does that mean the sections right beside the stage in the arena on either side are both VIP access only? If so, thats kinda bullshit.

I've listened to it several times now and I don't know man, i just really like it. I like that "hero" track, and the skits have me laughing. the thing with David Cross and his wife talking about people wearing their pants over their ears, and the fact that they have an actual chef on the album talking about weird alien food is really funny to me.

Great news re: Purity Ring. I'm expecting Nine Inch Nails to be my favorite set of the weekend, but Claude Vonstroke > Purity Ring > Deltron 3030 > Neutral Milk Hotel is going to be incredible.
