MSTRKRFT is just one of the two parts of DFA1979. Sebastien Grainger is the other half which just finished work on a split-record with Jewish Legend and is currently working on a solo album.

DFA 1979 sounds quite different than MSTRKRFT and Sebastien Grainger.

i don't imagine GV pooling any resources to initiate a DFA1979 reunion.

so tom... what is the official length of time for a band to be broken up before you can talk about reuniting? i never read the official band break-up procedures book. thanks for clarifying that for the dumbass!

even though it was made "official" August 3rd 2006 they decided and actually stoped working almost a year before. so it was not just "a few months".

They were just Death From Above early on, but were going to get sued by someone (either a band or organization with the same name) so they just added on 1979. It's the year of either Sebastian or Jesse's birth. I can't remember which of the two.

I saw them live in London about 18 months ago and they were supported by Metric and Test-Icicles. Metric were the best band that night.

Do it. It never gets old. It actually hurts me inside to know they broke up halfway through recording their next album. Now we will never get to hear those tracks...
