How would you feel about seeing Death From Above 1979??
Hell yeah!
Hell no!
According to whom is playing at the same time
Who the Hell is Death From Above 1979?
How would you feel about seeing Death From Above 1979??
They broke up, spazzo.
Besides, guess who MSTRKRFT is?
yeah, didn't Rage break up too? yeah they are headline'n. coachella has a way of bringing bands to reunite. so yeah who's the dumb ass now!
MSTRKRFT is just one of the two parts of DFA1979. Sebastien Grainger is the other half which just finished work on a split-record with Jewish Legend and is currently working on a solo album.
Who is, in fact, the dumbass? The answer is according to many variables.
whoops after reading your post again i see that you called me spazzo and not dumbass... so i mean "who's the spazzo now" i stand... well sit... corrected.
DFA 1979 sounds quite different than MSTRKRFT and Sebastien Grainger.
i know they do. and i too like them quite a bit.
i don't imagine GV pooling any resources to initiate a DFA1979 reunion.
but hey, james murphy will be there, so DFA will be there. that's close.
i see where your going with the james murphy, and trust me i really REALLY want to see James Murphy! but... to me no one can substitute for DFA 1979. That's me though! I am still really stoked about the lineup so far! would love to see the Police there.. i mean to hear roxanne's guitar riffs blaring?? i am getting excited already!
They aren't going to be there. They hate each other and were barely speaking when opening for NIN.
7-11 must be a popular place?
i was under the impression that they not only broke up, but hate each other now and aren't on speaking terms
I'm so pissed I never saw DFA1979.
Sounds like Jesse and Sebastian don't get along very well and no reunion is in sight. At least I'll get to enjoy MSTRKRFT this year.
so tom... what is the official length of time for a band to be broken up before you can talk about reuniting? i never read the official band break-up procedures book. thanks for clarifying that for the dumbass!
even though it was made "official" August 3rd 2006 they decided and actually stoped working almost a year before. so it was not just "a few months".
"let's make love and listen to Death From Above" is good enough for me. it makes me sad i didn't see them while they were still together. no matter, mstrkrft should be interesting.
ROFL MAO Yabs, I made a digestive joke @ Tom today too, in another section of the board.
anybody know how they got the name "death from above 1979"?
99, 02, 03, 04 , 05 , 06
you're a defunct canuck band
*based upon tedious fact checking.
I saw them live in London about 18 months ago and they were supported by Metric and Test-Icicles. Metric were the best band that night.
"The first time I heard the new single off the Bravery album, I actually cried, and I do not even remember the name of that damn song. It reminded me of this girl I am in love with." - kroqken
I saw Death From Above, pre 1979, opening for Billy Talent and Alexisonfire, excellent show.
It's weird to me that either of those bands opened for Billy Talent.
They are all really close friends. They all helped each other break out of the Toronto scene.
Do it. It never gets old. It actually hurts me inside to know they broke up halfway through recording their next album. Now we will never get to hear those tracks...
