    Default Parking

This is my 5th year attending Coachella! But it will be my first time not camping...I've heard the traffic getting out of the parking lot everyday is horrible! How is it really?

Expect to be waiting up to 3 hours depending on how far you are from the one gate they decide to open. They funnel all traffic through the same streets so it forms an inevitable bottleneck.

Basically make sure you're still high when the fest ends and wander into the camp grounds to find a party until you're actually able to leave.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams; it is still a beautiful world.

Getting out has been a crap shoot. I always stay until the last act. Some nights I'm out in less than 10 minutes, other nights its been an hour. When waiting that long there's usually some fun antics going on by people making the best of the situation.

Parking is why I take the shuttle. No hassles.

Yeah. Same. I have driven every year I have went. If you leave a bit early its no problem. If you leave at the end its depends on where you parked.

When you park. Take a note of where the exits are. Sometimes the exit you choose to head towards can make the difference.

I have been using the shuttles (this is the 3rd year). I have been wondering if the car parking/traffic situation has gotten better because of the shuttle useage.

25% of non-camping attendees take shuttles now, so I think the parking must have improved.

gps, do you happen to know the camper/non-camper ratio?
Or the capacity of the campground?
