Do you think ticket prices will increase as we get closer and closer to Coachella? I remember ticket prices used to be so high before, but now they're so low. Any reason why?

are you aware that they are all sold out except for friday?
Jebus loves me
Yes I am. But all the tickets are being sold for face value. I found out a while ago I wouldn't be able to go and was excited because tickets were selling for so much. Now everyone is selling them for face value.
^So now you're upset that your profit margin has been axed?
Everyone is selling them for face value?
That's news to me.
E
Its because RATM announced that they were playing more shows.
Before they did, tickets were being sold on e-bay between $700.00-$1,000.00
a person. Nobody would spend that much money if they could see them in thier home town for much cheaper. so everybody is trying to sell their tickets, gain in profit, and see them somewere else.
Close Luciano but I actually only made $670 on my tickets. I don't think any 3 day passes went for a thousand dollars. YOu are talking out of your asshole.
I just sold tickets to The Police for less than face value.
Anyways, does anyone think prices will increase as we get closer? Or will they just stay as they are now?
It depends on what happens with demand between now and showtime. Bigger name additions to the lineup would help stimulate growth in demand but what are the real chances of this happening? I'm not anticipating it. But, at least you can rest assured that you would get your full face value plus service charges from many a willing participant under the Tickets forum. In this regard, I wouldn't worry about losing money.
It's nice to see the prices have dropped for those that were patient and waited until things mellowed out.
Remember this chump? http://www.coachella.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3517
$850!!!! what a chum

I waited.... and some how ended up with three sets of hard passes, one camping pass and about 10 new friends to meet up with at Coachella. Paid about 300 for each set of passes and 50 for my camping pass. I got way more than what I had bargin for by waiting and checking daily for tickets. So I don't think tickets will get more expensive as time draws closer. In fact, I think by this point people will have reach the conclusion that they are not going or are going to try and get tickets the day of. It's a 50,000 people event... there will always be someone in the parking lot with a friend, cousin or dog who decideds not to go and will sell there tickets for face or less.

Lots of reasons.
1. You failed ecomonics class in high school thus prompting you to ask us this question.
2. You don't know how the market place works
3. You thought people would be giving their first born to get tickets.(this already happened, so you are s**t out of luck)
4. You thought about what you would do with your boat load of money before you even made it so you cursed yourself.
5. Buyers on e bay are smarter than you and wont fall for high prices.(all the stupids bought tickets already so only smarties are left. People, not the candy)
6. You are S**T OUT OF LUCK
Haha, you guys are great
For some reason I really thought ticket prices would get much higher as it would get closer to the concert because of the demand for the tickets. Guess I got screwed. Well, not really screwed. But it would have been nice to make some extra money.
Guess I learned my lesson.
Yep. DONT BE GREEDY.
Unless you are Delta then greedy and smart(when it comes to scalping) become a deadly combo and you can make oddles of money.
Supply and demand.
Read up on it.
It depends on whether people are willing to pay higher prices as the event approaches, if so, the prices will rise... but will rise relative to the available supply.
I saw a 3 day pass go on ebay right after the passes sold out for 1500. I dont have proof but i saw it.
and there will always be someone who decided last moment to show up and see if he/she/it can get a ticket, and if he/she/it has enough cash the nice scalper person will provide a ticket....I had an extra ticket last year for Sunday (Madonna) nite and you will not believe how many scalpers (by the ticket booth, by the side of the road in to the concert, by the camping entrance!) were there offering me face value. I figured f**k them and I sold the ticket face value to a kid.
