Thread: Drum & Bass?

    Default Drum & Bass?

I'm a huge fan of the electronic lineup this year (the deep/tech/techno is amazing), but isn't there usually one or two drum & bass acts? Those seem to be missing from this year's lineup. Here's to hoping that Dirtybird curates a new tent and Justin Martin does an all jungle set.

Perfect, I'll check it out. Not too familiar with the D&B scene, but definitely want to get more into it. But even then, ONE artist for the whole weekend?

I've seen Knife Party before, not much drum & bass in their sets, also, LOUD NOISES.

They branched off of Pendulum for a reason, haha.

Coachella is the wrong place to go looking to get into drum n bass. Try going to Respect if you're in the LA area. Insomniac books a lot of the same dnb artists for their events, but you can definitely get your fill. To really get into it more, try Outlook, Dimensions, or Sun n Bass. 2011 PF Dome was the last strong presence of dnb at Coachella as far as I'm concerned but yes, check out Roni Size. He is old school/a G.

All these new dnb acts like dirtyphonics aren't really what dnb is tbh, Roni Size is literally the only true dnb performer. Dirtyphonics is like drumstep/dubstep style dnb that really wasn't ever accepted by most true dnb heads.

    Fixed. Generalizations are always wrong.

Yeah "true" drum n bass is something of a fading genre, but for your 85/170ish BPM bass music fix check out dirtyphonics and even bassnectar. Also, go to drum n bass shows around your area, or move to Europe.

Raymon Roker was added to the lineup today. So, there's another DnB DJ for you.
