    Default Ebay Sellers--Stupid move!

do they not realize that by putting a picture of their tickets on ebay with the barcodes and numbers visible that they are running the risk of having someone use those to print up fake tickets??? how much would that suck to be the buyer of legit tickets that someone stole the barcode off of and used to get inside the grounds before you?!

Aww screw it, let's fuck 'em over! who's in?

You have to copy the exact barcode sequence. It's not as easy as it sounds.

but all they do is scan the tickets--so what's a water mark matter?

uh....ticketmaster tickets are printed on thermal paper that you can scratch & it turns black underneath. I saw a kid who bought a cereal box cardboard thick Pearl Jam ticket that was fake. Poor guy. I don't think theres a watermark anywhere on the tickets. TicketWeb uses holograms.

well those people could be fucked unless they're the original owner. I never buy those things from people unless they are the original owner whose name should be on the ticket. I guess you could legally come back on them if they fucked you over.

It is impossible to counterfeit a ticket from an ebay photo. You can try to reproduce a ticket but the ticketmaster barcode scanners won't necessarily work and the equipment needed to produce an actual good replica is quite costly.

E-Tickets can be copied and sold all day but only the first guy gets in and if there are some fakes it falls right back in the owners lap who paid for the ticket with the credit card. This stuff isn't really as easy as you think.

Not to mention at an outdoor event like coachella for instance the campground last year they just took etickets and never scanned a thing at the time I went in. So even if some fakes were going around at that particular time you could have got in with the fakes.

What the hell are you going to do to screw them over huh? Man you dont know s**t kid. Why dont you try and report the auction and see what you can do. And the photo woudl need to be very high resolution to get exact numbers and barcode sequence. And how many people have the ability do to this anyway? Yeah they will spend hours on end in photoshop doing this just to jack people. Give me a break, Delta wouldnt even stoop that low to get s**t done.

jesus f'n christ! uh, i was kidding about actually screwing anyone over...relax!

once you have the numbers i think the barcode is pretty easy to create just based on them, especially if the barcode system is a generic one used on all goods. i have heard of people that can go into a supermarket and just look at the bar code on a product to know the price.

Thatīs the most stupid thing that I have heard in a while... Barcodes only identify a product inside an inventory, it doesnīt keep any info about price or whatsoever.

BTW I just tried several times with a Barcode generator program to test your theory if it could (remotely) be true and I tried with my tickets and it gives completely different barcodes from the ones printed there, I tried every single Bar Code Type that this little program let me (UPC, Code 39, Code 128B, EAN...) and every time the same result, they came different from the ones printed in the ticket.

Bulls**t you were, if you had no intention to create havoc in the marketplace you would have never made this thread.
